I was thinking of starting this thread, I never noticed in X1 or X2, but Xavier's ties certainly caught my eye in X3. I noticed at least 3 or 4 exquisitely tied knots and the suits were pretty dashing also. Magneto would've looked good too if they hadn't stuck him in that depressing helmet for most of the movie.
I think my favorite moment of the entire flick was when Wolverine looks at Beast and just spits "Nice suit." Somebody should get Hugh Jackman and Kelsey Grammer accounts here.


Do you suppose Beast logged on here to queary, "What kind of suit to wear if one has blue fur...and what to do about shedding one's own fur on oneself?" Nice white French cuffs too...the Grover-color really set them off! ;o)

Two actually. at the very beginnig, you get a nice shot of his shoe when getting out of the car with Magneto to meet Jean. I think the shoes are bal wingtip brogues at that moment although I am not sure.

I saw the movie Sunday night, and when I saw that SB 3P peak-lapel suit, I thought of SF. The material looked gorgeous.

Yeah, mad props for that suit. I think there's been a resergence in the popularity of the single breasted peak lapel for movie costuming; David Straithairn wore one in his role as Ed Murrow in Good Night, And Good Luck, and you'll notice in the trailer for Casino Royale that Daniel Craig is donning a sportcoat in that style as well.

haha. exactly the same type of response by my wife as well.
as soon as they showed the black full brogues out of the car, my wife turned to me and started to laugh out loud.
nobody else in the theater understood why she laughed.

Boys, great, but does anyone know what kind of suits they were? They didn't look like Armani. In fact, I was wondering if they were French. I should have stuck around to see if there was any info in the credits but we were going for a drink.

And a three piece is a great option in this Washington heat. You can lose the jacket and still look formal.

If you rent the dvd of X1, there is a reference about Patrick Stewart's suits in the "Costume featurette" of Disc 2. In it, it shows that all of his suits in the film were custom made and designed specifically for the sitting position. The suits are NOT functional for standing and/or walking around. There is a clip that shows him walking around in one of them... not pretty.

OK. This is progress. So who made them? Did it say?

I suppose a person could just take stills from the DVD and show them to a good tailor.
