I think chelsea will go home with the trophy from rome, the game against barca will be epic and after that the fight against man u will be a walk in the park.

Ronaldos goal last night was a real masterpiece.

The chelsea vs pool game is something i will rember for a long time. Lampard finishing it with the post post goal was a great ending.

Sorry, bud. It wasn't Barca that was playing 10 behind the ball for the 180. That's a mighty fine selective memory you've got there.

Sorry, bud. Who won the trophy? That's all anyone will remember.
Utd didn't play with 10 behind the ball, its just not in our nature. Chelsea can play this way which led to my original comment that they could do a job on you.

Humiliated yes. I agree.

But don't worry, there's always time for redemption. I wouldn't get all cocky after winning 3 champions league in the club history?

Come on Arsenal!

I have no dog in this fight, so I don't care who actually won, but I thought I would reply to this statement.

People ALWAYS talk about the style a team plays with. No matter who many games you win, if it's robotic, bunker-behind-your-lines, kind of play, no one will credit you with anything other than "Yeah, they won--but it was ugly and they didn't deserve it."

Well, hopefully the Roma bhoys will get to see a good game. I think Utd. and Barca will go to the final. Either side is fully capable of taking it......

Do people differentiate btwn the European Cup and the CL trophies when they've been won in each competition (e.g. Utd)? I've noticed Americans seem to blend them together, while Brits/Euros always distinguish the two titles.

The Champion's League name says it all. UEFA Cup = Teams not good enough to advance in the CL.

As much as I dislike ManUre and ol' red nose, they very seldom play with ten men sitting behind the ball.

And while I agree that people tend to remember the style of play, they also rarely remember the team it beat.

^ what water said. It's a HYYUUUUUGGGE difference. None of the big clubs want to qualify for the UEFA Cup, either through placing below 4th in domestic leagues or elimination from CL, to begin with.

Sorry, I thought you were asking about the UEFA Cup. As whacked said, none of the big clubs care much about that one.
