Chambray Shirting

Any thoughts on this shirting in general. I am talking about nice, authentic French Chambray not some bad polyester job from Miller's Outpost.

I think that it is a great alternative to classic brooks Oxford cloth.

Opinions?

Yeah!
Ivy as worn by Chet Baker.
It's not 'Trad' tho' 'cos it's origins are as a working man's fabric way-back-when.
Chambray can be as good as end-on-end when done well.
The Andover shop (Very Ivy) do some of the best I've seen.

I love a Chambray BD under a Herringbone jacket with a slim knit tie. It's almost a uniform for me.

A cool look IMVHO.

I agree. In fact, I think that it is great with all sportcoats. I perfer mine J Press style with button down pocket. You?

Sad but true: I don't even own an Andover one!
I buy LL Bean & often lighten them with bleach in the bath to get different shades...

I'm a bit of a scumbag.

I have mine from Polo since more then ten years. Very comfortable.

I have three from LL Bean that I generally wear on the weekends with jeans or khakis. I think they're great casual shirts.

The Bean Chambray is great. Sadly they're only S.M.L. etc, sizes but they cost nothing & you can dress them up or down very well. You'd never wear them with a suit I don't think, but with a blazer or any other sportcoat they look great. I especially like them with silk knit ties but I've worn them with reps too.
You do need to really press them well to dress them up tho'. Other than that I think they're fine & add a very interesting note of colour & texture to an outfit.

It is my favorite fabric for casual shirts. I could see it working well with a sportcoat.
