Chalk stripe without tie

I'm thinking of getting a dark grey flannel chalk stripe suit, but I don't wear a tie at work usually. Since the chalk stripe is a bit formal, I'm not completely sure how it will look sans tie. Anyone here regularly wear chalk without a tie? Or should I just see this as a perfect opportunity to start wearing a tie (even though I already dress a lot more formal than most at my office).

Any striped suit in a dark color needs a tie IMO. Whether you should start wearing a tie or not only you can decide.
Yeah and normally i agree, but chalk stripe seems much less formal than pin, with the flannel bringing it down further. I haven’t seen many pics of people wearing chalk without ties so i guess that may be a sign...
