Someone just posted that Jaime's in redwood city has a chainstitching machine. Did not get a price cost though.

I really would like to know this too. I saw that other SF thread but didn't really see much worth going out of my way for. Does anyone know if Jaime's has a website or address?

OOPs San Rafael, not redwood city, head north not south. So it'll cost you five bucks to go across the bridge.
here's the info:
Jaime's
4340 Redwood Hwy # A-36
San Rafael, CA 94903
(415) 492-1325

to be accurate the style of sewing you refer to is blind stitching.
it is done on a blindstich machine.
the thread looks like a chain but the sewing is by definition a blind stich.
