CF to SD adaptors for cameras

Has anyone ever used one of the adapters that lets you put an SD card into a CF-shaped shell? I have seen a few out there but I don't know how well they acutally work.

My netbook has a SD card slot and I was hoping that I could get one of these adapters for my DSLR (canon D60) that only takes CF cards. I wouldn't have to use it all the time but it would be nice for travel since I could pull pictures from the SD card to my netbook without any extra cables/usb adapters.

Are there big performance hits? Size limits since this is an older camera? Is there a particular model of adapter that gives the best function for the price?

i don't know anything about this but i would only consider these adapters if they were made by a company that makes memory cards. if sandisk is selling these, i assume they work.

I've never seen a CF to SD adapter, I don't know if there's a technical limitation or there just isn't demand for it. I have a feeling you will need to get a USB multicard reader for about $20.

though they are all "currently unavailable" but such a device exists...I just need to know if they work well.
