Hi everyone,

The other day my wife and I got some essential oils, one of them was cedarwood and got me thinking: does it make sense to add cedarwood oil to my wooden hangers and (some years old) cedar shoe trees to restore the scent and protection against moths?

Happy New Year!
Thanks

I don't know about the the kinds of essential oils meant for fragrance diffusers, etc, but specialty woodworking stores sell pure cedarwood oil for reconditioning (and returning fragrance to) cedarwood. Price is probably a lot less/oz. than the aromatherapy variety. Just wipe on with a clean rag or old t-shirt, let the oil soak into the wood for 10-15 mins, and wipe off any excess oil.
