I like it all but the outrageous PS fold and the loafers (I don't mind the loafers, but I think they are out of place with such a formal suit as this). You have been featuring tassle loafers exclusively in these posts, Trini. Are these your preferred shoes these days?

    Too much faux sprezz TRINI.

The spring weather had me feeling a bit foppish today, hence the pocket square and loafers. Re: the loafers, I actually need a pair of brown bals but haven't gotten around to getting a pair given the C&J shutdown.

So in the meantime, my variety of loafers will have to do.

    Trini,

I think a black neat pattern tie and white shirt would look better. I love the loafers with this look.

Cheers. I do go with that combo from time to time with a black Panta cashmere tie.

    I do it for you.

Don't worry though - these will be here in the future:

+1 Are (tassel) loafers ever appropriate for CBD?

Tough one. They are common enough for business. I think they used to be a prep staple (perhaps wrong?).

I certainly saw a lot of them in California in the '80s and '90s. My first non-loafer, non-saddle, non-buck was a tassle loafter. Had two pair, in college, never got more.

This is what's been wrong with this forum for a bit. There's a range of "right" with all sorts of personal preferences inside that range. But there's also plenty of "wrong" beyond that range. Not everything is personal preference - some stuff just looks bad and we should say so.

You seem to imply that trousers fit well only if they fit at the waist/hips. This may be your opinion but it's incorrect. Good fit is also through the leg and in the length.

I also think that old/old could benefit from a less baggy trouser leg. I also think it is within the range of acceptable, but that doesn't mean it's optimal.

Finally, don't get so mad. People voice their opinions, you voice yours. All good.

well said, this is what i was getting at.

I've created a new thread to talk about trousers in an civilised fashion (as opposed to my previous curmudgeonry that I've since backtracked from).

that's a beautiful navy tie Trini, very richly colored.

Isn't it? I'd love one in brown silk.

Because of the volume of orders they have, C&J aren't accepting new orders until March. Basically, you're SOL if your preferred retailer doesn't have your size in stock.

Could someone please sticky this? Hell, forget stickying. Could someone incorporate it into the login process so that everyone has to click that they agree to these terms before they can post? emptym? j?

I am not impressed with the tie in this context, though I think I am not properly seeing the colors. But the shoes are not CBD and the socks . . . [IMG] "My eyes are up here, dude!"

It's March now though (unless I'm more behind than I think - which is possible). Or do you mean March 2012?
