Ruv that tie. Shirt is not bad considering the white ground dominates, but not too much.

While he's old enough to have been around then, he might be too old to remember it clearly.[IMG]

I think the only element that might raise eyebrows in a CBD environment is the cognac color of the shoes. No. 8 shell bluchers - cap toed or plain toed - would blend right in, but those light shoes with a dark suit read flamboyant. To me that's fine, but I'm not sure how they go over in an office.

Vox actually PMed to say that the shoes were not quite right, or not quite trad. Apparently, big bluchers were more middle American than East Coast.

I was going for a more Naples look anyway. Big Shoes seem de riguer over there.

Nah, that would ruin it. That's sort of a throwback to a BB-esque look. You would have seen this all over NYC in the '50s & '60s. I mean not exactly that, but patch flannel + OCBD + wool tie + gunboats, sure. Right vox? The shirt throws it off the most because there is no way to press those seams flat. I bet if I had worn my pinpoint BD, which presses up much more crisply, everyone would be fine with it.
Explanatory note for new forvm members, i.e. n00bs. In the statement "Right vox?" Manton is addressing former Mens Clothing Forvm Goon Member, voxsartoria. The most recent 100 or so of vox's 25,000 posts were ultimately reduced to a simple ".." through ritual self-mutilation. "He is missed. I hope that he is okay."

Like everything except for the watch which is too big to be worn with suits IMO. But then, I have never understood the utility of a 40mm+ dress watches.

No it's a Borrelli grey woolen flannel. It's completely unlined and unstructured. Essentially a shirt.

^ Like the shirt gdl. I think red-striped shirts are sadly under-used these days.
