So given these criteria, how would you judge the one I posted?

    Much better than his.

    Who makes that shirt?

    It's very old RLPL RTW.

that looks really good scruff. pretty much hit it out of the park on the first try. Also like your shirt collar and tie width very much, proportions on the whole outfit are great.

+2. Proportions are very good. Ercole (and you) did a nice job.

    Yes that looks pretty good.

There's a clear X at the buttoning point, which I don't love, but maybe that's scruff's preference for a tighter fit.

Finally, if you can see the neck band of your tie almost halfway around your neck, the collar is too damned spread.

That's my pet peeve about uber-cutaways.

Let's pretend those are notch lapels.... [IMG] ... Ironically, I was at a university speaking on CBD.... [IMG]
You can paypal me my cut of your fee.

That looks good, but, yet, better with notch.

a wide cutaway collar with the right height, angle and particularly the right tie knot (single FIH) can be CBD

A nice cutaway still looks as though, when viewd from head on, the angle separating the points is less than 180. Also, the points need to be a bit shorter than on a medium spread. Finally, if you can see the neck band of your tie almost halfway around your neck, the collar is too damned spread.

If you're like oldog and you don't give a hell what anyone says and just want to display your threads, then bombs away.

One of the courses I teach a few times a year is about interview skills. When we get to short bit about interview attire, I quickly run through the basics, and then make sure to remind them to "do as I say, not as I dress!"

In London it is (I ought to know, I'm there all the time)

I think in London we are too stiff upper lipped to comment, but whilst I think the collar is interesting, I don't think it's any more CBD here than anywhere else (international or not).

@ Orgetorix, old-school fish mouth Oxxford lapels will always get you an Obama fist-bump from me [IMG]

Why don't they make those any more? Bummer.

    Smartly done.

Thanks. Frank really did a great job and I'm looking forward to a few more pieces.

    Yes that looks pretty good.

Agree. Some tweaks will be made, including letting the waist out a nip and cleaning up some rippling above the right (my right) pocket.

Here's maybe a better shot showing the silhouette (I switched up to a fancier bathroom). The fabric's a standard VBC Revenge 130s. Frank didn't love the fabric - but I wanted to play it safe with the first go, and I like how it takes on an almost purple hue in good lighting.

Love this, o/o. I would guess that some might criticize the similar scale of the shirt and PS patterns, but I think it works.

Very nice, Orge. The shoes are fine examples of shoes that I just don't care for, but that's just personal preference.

Can I post pics here even if I dont have an actual job for which I would have to dress a la CBD?

Sure, why not? My job doesn't require even a jacket and tie, let alone CBD.
