It sure feels good to touch some spring/summer fabrics again..
(Even though it is still cold here in Oslo..)

It is an ongoing processs to make sure consistency is there across both lines.
Ain't it just a difference between fabrics? I.e. Some fabrics just shrink during production process, since the garments needed to be steamed a lot and that shrinks some fabrics. You have a lot less options in the Sartoria line and so I haven't came across this issue with it.
P.S. I also get a better fit with Sartoria line than the main line and sleeves shirring is a great addition in the Sartoria line.

Is the reason for the inconsistency in the sizes not the way they are cut? I assume that in the case of cheaper shirts, a dozen or so are cut at once, and in the case of the highest lines made by hand, each is cut individually (this is also indicated by the description of the Sartoria line on the Cavour store website). In case of individual cutting of each piece it is probably easier to "control" the size.

Cutting sure plays a part, but not as much as it used to, due to technology advancing rapidly.
Newer machines are very precise.

The first machine made batch of shirts we did with our friends in India, had the largest inconsistency, as they put the margin on the inside of the pattern rather than on the outside. So there were quite a few shirts that were smaller than the indicated size.
Things like this that can happen when switching manufacturers.

Nope. The way the items are cut plays no role, at least these days. Items are cut for the same pattern with different fabrics all at once and sizing is as consistent as with the individual cutting. I'd find a video for you how it's done on the industrial scale, but I am on my phone in a remote area, so can't be bothered. The real difference in sizing comes into play in further manufacturing steps

New to this thread, hello all!

Looking at a mod2- usually a 44R-44S. How do their suit jackets fit, seems generally true, perhaps a little short?

Thanks all!

True to size. Look at the size chart, it is pretty accurate with some exceptions

So, I finally got my first Cavour sartoria and I would appreciate your blunt opinions. Some things work better than others so I'd like to see what needs to be done by the tailor. I sized a full size up from what I wear at S&M and I think the shoulders now fit very well but there are some issues elsewhere. Id say the back needs to be brought in a bit to give it more shape, not sure if the sleeves should be brought up a bit and i don't know if the jacket is overall a tad long.
As for the trousers, I'll need to open the sides a quite a bit and obv the length (how tall are Norwegians....). When I'm standing still it's not too bad but you'll see that as soon as I lift my leg, I'm quite restricted, would this be solved by making the leg wider?
Fire away! Does this work, which changes are needed and if the changes would simply be too many is my main concern. I love the fabric.

The trousers are brutal - it's creating a diaper effect. Taking out the seat and the hem in the leg may help.

I don't know about the back - it looks a bit messy.

adjust the trousers for sure.
depending how the jacket feels, you could maybe do some work on the waist.
but otherwise this is a great fit, imo
