Hey everyone.

With the warm weather rapidly approaching I'm lookin to fill in the gap in my warddrobe. Last spring/summer I had a pair of $40 dark blue Sperrys I beat to hell out and about at the beach, in town, etc. Basically, if I could go outside without wearing socks I would. Naturally this pair is shot, and I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket.

I've already ordered a pair of Oak Street Bootmakers Vibram-sole Trail Oxfords in brown which I think will be great:

I also have my eyes on a pair of Sperry x Band of Outsiders wool penny loafers. They are a bit flashy, but they look interesting and I can pull it off with my current style. I have a pair of grey wool hightop CLAE sneakers and I have never received more compliments on a pair of footwear. Wool is an interesting detail which I think can look quite cool for casual shoes. Plus I love the soles:

So, aside from those two, I'm looking for a pair of casual penny loafers in leather. Preferably in dark brown or.. I'd go as far as navy. Point is I'm not looking for a sleek, dressy loafer with a low vamp or something that costs upwards of $400-500 dollars (Time and a place for that, and its for the office, not the bars). I will be wearing with them mostly with jeans or shorts and invisible/loafer socks.

Naturally I've been looking at some lightly used Allen Edmonds Loafers on Ebay for $150 or less.

And I've also looked at Oak Street Bootmakers again, they seem to have a nice loafer for ~$250 that seems casual enough:

I've also seen a Quoddy Penny Loafer that seems to fit the bill too (Although I'm not sold on it).:

Then I thought.. perhaps, Bass, but I'm sure they would look clunky and old-man'ish. Some searching found a Marc Mcnairy x Bass collab with shoes like this:

but I'm not sure I want to spend the $250 - $300 for them if I could find something comparable for cheaper.

So anyways, now you see the look I'm going for.... any suggestions!?

Can someone explain to me why the perry x band of outsiders loafers have "mad in china" stamped on the outside of the tongue.

To me they don't seem to be any higher quality than the basic Sperry. The "x band of outsiders" just equals $ x 400 percent.

In regards to the pics, I liked the first ones that you already bought the best. However, if you're planning on just destroying another pair of slip ons this season why not just go cheap again?

I really like the OSB's and am considering making them my big summer purchase. That said, though, last summer I bought a pair of Sebagp loafers and wore te crap out of them and that was fine, too.
