casual + creative workplaces

ok, there have been some conversations to this topic, but how many out there work in very casual and creative workplaces.

at best, most of the people i work with wear expensive streetwear and occasional prada (mostly sloppy casual with expensive sneakers) in a creative business in new york.

it's easy to just do my own style (custom shirts, etro/italian suits/pants, but evolving) in that environment, but i suppose i'm wondering what strategies fellow forumites in creative businesses have used to both fit in somewhat but overcome this kind of casual clothing environment...

What is needed is to become a style leader by setting one's own style. Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Louis Boston and Wilkes Bashford, for example, are good places to see creative styles that will often outlast current fashion.

I'm getting sick of the t-shirts with stylised coats of arms, which pass for "dress casual" these days.

precisely why i asked the question, because at best you see suit, sneakers and $80 tshirt (lame)....

I work in a casual creative environment and would look less out of place in a multistriped Etro suit than a Brioni.

I don't think about 'what to wear for work' as I always dress how I'd dress any other day on the weekend, which ranges from expensive streetwear to cheapass streetwear to jacket/odd trousers/dress shirt. I never wear a suit but do like wearing a badass jacket with supremely cool trousers in the fall/winter.

and I hate sneakers with suits/trousers. That's one of my biggest sartorial pet peeves.
