Hi,
I am looking for casual boots in suede and in brown variant color like dark tan, snuff, mid brown, brown-grey with thinner rubber sole to to prevent slipping on wet floors but still lightweight if it is possible. I wanted these new boots for casual city outfit during spring and fall, and maybe colder days in summer, with rounded toe. I am more aimed for chukkas, but I am ready to consider also chelseas, or at least try them how they will fit.

This will be mi first pair of casual suede boots because I have only derby boots in chromexcel leather so I would like ask you for help.

My daily outfit to match boots are slim jeans (not skinny) in blue or light blue color with shirts, t-shirts and sashiko or leather jacket.

I already did some browsing and I found following boots. But I am missing real experience with suede boots or fashion sense, and if they are suitable for my outfit. So I will appreciate your opinion about them.

- Crockett & Jones Chiltern (Snuff, Slate, Dark Brown)
- Crockett & Jones Chelsea 11 (Slate)
- Church's Amberley r173 Chukka (Sigar)
- Church's Sahara Chukka (Brown)
- Church's Ryder (Sigar, Mud)
- Tricker's Aldo Chukka Boots (Husk Eco Buck)
- Alden 1593L Chukka Boot (Snuff)
- Grenson Chester

Do you own any of these and can you provide photos and some thoughts? I am also open to any other recommendations. Thank you

Have you considered a crepe sole shoe? Anglo-Italian, Astorflex, Drake's, and Skolyx have chukkas with crepe soles.

Also Tricker's Polo chukkas have a thinner sole than Aldo.

Actually I noticed that there is something like crepe outsole, and I checked it. Unfortunately most of these boots I didn't like. Only crepe outsole chukkas what I liked were Loake Rivingtoin, but I read some negative reviews about them because of materials quality so I didn't considered them anymore. Also Church's Sahara has crepe sole I guess.
Tricker's Polo
I liked them a lot, but it has leather outsole, so I am afraid of slipping.

We are fans of suede. it takes color beautifully, is soft on the foot, and with good shoe care, lasts as long as leather. I'm looking at your list of suppliers, you certainly have a good base, so why not try another maker?

Sounds like you're on the hunt for some cool casual boots. I totally get wanting something versatile for city life. Let me share a few ideas that might work for you:
For chukkas, you can't go wrong with Clarks Originals Desert Boots. They've got that classic suede look and come in a bunch of brown shades. The crepe sole is pretty lightweight and gives decent grip. They'd look great with your jeans and jacket combo
If you're open to trying Chelseas, Dr. Martens makes some nice suede ones. They're a bit chunkier than what you described, but they're super durable and have good traction. Plus, they look awesome with slim jeans.
Another option to consider is Timberland. They've got some lighter-weight chukkas that might fit the bill. Their soles are usually pretty good for wet surfaces too.

I have a pair of suede chukkas from myrqvist that I wear pretty much how you described: for casual city outfits, usually with jeans. Myrqvist makes proper goodyear welted shoes, and the rubber sole has held up well so far. About half the price from C&J and similar, and I've found the quality fairly good so far.

Courteney is another company you might want to check out. Made in Zimbabwe Africa but available in the UK and in the USA through Westley Richards.

I bought these clarks wallabee boots not more than a month ago, and they are great, they are on sale too, so you'll probably save a couple of bucks on these

I rather like the Sanders Hi-Top. Has the Steve McQueen vibe. And they're fairly reasonably priced.

I recently picked up a pair of mid-brown suede Enzo Bonafé chukkas from Skoaktiebolaget and I highly recommend (see pic below). Great versatile color, handmade in Italy and excellent quality, vibram toppy soles, and in your price range. Their Löf & Tung in-house brand shoes are also excellent quality at a lower price point than the EB’s and they have a dark brown pair on right now. I also have several shoes from Carmina and highly recommend, which I also have a pair of 3 eyelet chukkas in snuff suede and love their quality. Good luck!
