The tasering was almost funny. No argument, no fuss, no muss.

Are you kidding? It was funny. Me, my friends, and the whole audience laughed. Maybe we're just a different crowd.

By the way, as we have now gotten used to a Bond who drives a German car (didn´t Brosnan use a BMW?) and who dresses the Italian way (goodbye Savile Row), and as muscles appear to be an issue, I would suggest Schwarzenegger to be the next Bond.

He already did - or was True Lies another movie that you missed?

Naw. I just don't have a sense of humour.

wow, those do look like the dior homme glasses. i thought maybe this pair of persols would also be of interest, from the movie but not from the photo you posted.

    persol, model 2720

i would just buy the model, tho-- not the one with the casino royale box and 007 on the glasses.

I checked out the Amazon website link that you provided, but is the retailer safe to order from? Note, it's not Amazon that is actually selling the sunglasses. A third party is using Amazon to sell the items.

Having seen the movie last night, I can finally contribute to this thread. My favorite look was definately the three piece in the closing scene. With that big-ass sniper rifle, it reminded me of caine in get carter. My vote for best-dressed, however, definatly goes to Tasered Dude. J- I totally hear you on the Goldfinger homage. On the topic of intertextuality, early Hitchcock fans must have noticed how much Le Chiffre seemed to be modelled on Peter Lorre (my avatar and nicknamesake) from the first version of The Man Who Knew Too Much: [IMG] [IMG] it may also be worth noting that Lorre played Le Chiffre in Casino Royale's first screen adaptation, a 1954 tv-episode which predates Orson Wells' turn in the role by over a decade (and earns Lorre the honor of being the first screen Bond baddie). Also, did anybody else notice that Richard Branson, of Virgin Megafame, has a walk-on? I swear thats him standing by the metal detector at Security in Miami International Airport.

It's actually the HK UMP with a suppressor and scope, a submachine gun. The baddies who abducted Vesper also used them. [IMG] EDIT: The one pictured above is the 25 round .45 version judging by the straight magazine. The movie ones were most likely 9mm because of the curved mag. I also know way too much about this stuff. [IMG]
