If yo ucan wear slippers why not, bluchers?
The slippers are for sitting down at operas so your feet don't hurt at the end. You're supposed to put your regular shoes on once it's over. As for the martini, that recipe was in the novel from the beginning. I believe if anything the movie made the error with the "Kina Lillet." Or they changed it deliberately. In the first movies, he simply ordered, "Vodka martini. Shaken, not stirred." This is probably so he didn't have to say the whole recipe every time.

I'd give a Brioni boutique a call and ask them. They've probably had a question about it by now. If they're not sure what you're talking about, I think it was a light blue houndstooth pattern, so describe it to them that way.

Here is an interview with the Costume Designer for Casino Royale, Lindy Hemming:

Are we still sure about Craig wearing John Lobb Paris shoes, particularly the Luffield? I'm getting the feeling from that article that he was wearing JL St. James.

Also, does anyone here know which half-zip sweater and pants was he wearing in the scene in which he was chasing after Vesper for the money? IIRC, the colour of the sweater was dark navy, but I forgot the colour of the pants.

I think it's a polo style navy sweater (not half siz) and navy pants. Follow this link, then change "xx" for "68" in your URL and hit enter. Repeat with "45"

Does Daniel’s looks – the blond hair and those piercing blue eyes – affect the clothes you put him in?
Yes, it does. It made me use mostly blue, to be honest. Nearly everything he has got is navy blue, pale blue, grey, mid grey and black. But then I almost never use colour on Bond because colour dates everything. So it’s mainly blue and grey and black and white.

What are you trying to achieve with his look?
Well we want him to look contemporary but classic, too. These films last a long, long time and people look back at them and so you are trying to create a look that won’t date very quickly. I mean, if you look back at some of the Roger Moore films, for instance, they do look very seventies. There’s one where he’s wearing the white safari suit and it does date them. We’re trying to go for a look that won’t be dated. So whilst we want Daniel in clothes that look sharp and contemporary, we also want him to have that classic Bond style and that is timeless.

Sunspel did all the undergarments.James Bond wears John Smedley in Casino Royale (November 14th 2006)
Daniel Craig, the new James Bond, can be seen wearing styles Belmont (V neck sweater in Black) and Richards (Roll Collar sweater in Black) in the latest Bond blockbuster, Casino Royale. Both styles are available in our To Your Wardrobe collection or in the Mens Merino section.
John Smedley - Licenced to Knit

*** His Navy outfit would seem to be either Smedley or Brioni. The Navy Polo by Sunspel will cost you $132 (shipping included to get to the states). They actually made the shirts contratray to their normal cut very slim to emphasis his athleticism/physique/sex appeal from what I've read. After watching the film they really ran with the blue matching his eye color; also Navy never dates as she says, so it makes alot of sense.

I was really surprised the other day, when I happened to walk past the local Brioni shop (I always walk past it, not into it, because Brioni is beyond the limits of my clothing budget) on C/Jorge Juan. To my surprise, one of the shop windows was dominated by this big "Casino Royale" poster, and there was a jacket havng a lining featuring "Brioni" and "007".
I was a bit disappointed, because I always considered Bond movies to be quite "cheap" low class movies, especially after Connery (and, maybe, Moore, who may have been too old and too repaired but who at least brought that Simon Templar flair into the movies). The other day I watched "Die Another Day" with Brosnan on DVD (I haven't bothered to go to cinema for Bond movies for years), and I found it horrible, a really really bad plot and no class at all. I cannot understand how a supposed "classy" brand like Brioni wants to be messed up with such cheap stuff (or was Casino Royale different from the Brosnan style?)
I would personally prefer to be associated with "classy" actors like Marcello Mastroianni and Vittorio Gassman; Daniel Craig may be classy too, but in the pics I have seen fromn Casino Royale he looks too much like a bodybuilder, and class is not something I associate with the bodybuilders I know.

They are both dead. Maybe being alive is a top criterion for Brioni, Lobb and T&A in picking who they want to be associated with

I guess that I ended up with these actors after having browsed the living ones without finding anyone that appeared classy to me... Thinking about it, if being alive is a top criterion, you may not be able to do much better than Daniel Craig...

Although I believe that George Clooney would have been a better choice if your were looking for class (actually, here in Spain El Corte InglÃ[IMG]s used him for their brand Emidio Tucci). Andy Garcia might also have been OK.

By the way, as we have now gotten used to a Bond who drives a German car (didn´t Brosnan use a BMW?) and who dresses the Italian way (goodbye Savile Row), and as muscles appear to be an issue, I would suggest Schwarzenegger to be the next Bond.

Maybe in the next JB film, there will be some cheesy one-liner about the suits: "No it is not from savile row, it is Bryyyyohhhhneeeee"? [IMG]
