    Hi,

The Topic Title just about says it all.

I treated myself for an xmas present, a pullover with zip Loro Piana Sweater. Single layer, very thin.

I've worn it 2-3 times and i'm now starting to see a little pilling around the collar area, probably from the stubble of my beard, as well as the start of pilling on the front of the sweater.

Any tips for preserving and protecting the sweater? Is the little electric Pill remover thingy the best tool?

    Thanks.

    Shaving more closely?

I use the electric clothes shaver on sweaters without ever having had a problem.  But that is more maintenance than prevention.

Hopefully, with a sweater of that quality, the pilling is only initial, and then will subside?  Disappointing, though.

    Fabienne,

For the retail price i paid, yes, a bit disappointing. But i love the sweater. Very sharp.

It's terrible when expensive sweaters pill. I really haven't found one yet that dosen't pill to some degree.

What you can do is take a beard trimmer or electric clippers and shave off the pilled area. This should neaten things up a bit.

On an expensive sweater, heck on any sweater, stick to the tool that Fabienne is talking about and dont improvise with a clippers.

Last thing you need is clipping a hole into the sweater.

No, scratch that. I found it on the Internet. Google "de-fuzzer" or "clothes shaver." The brand name I have is "Schildkraut."

    Good luckenzie.
