I have the shetland and the hebridean. I really like them, they seem robust and long lasting but there not the most tightly knitted and have elasticated reinforced hems. There softer then you think though, I believe the un dyed nature keeps the softness of the original wool but not sure.

They are also full seamless knit.

Can't wait to start wearing them for winter.

Thank you for having reported your experience. From the pictures I can see that they are rather loose knitted and somewhat coarse.

what do you mean

knit too loose?
pill heavily?
fit loose?
or just not as soft and smooth as Italian cashmere?
I don't want to say they are pill heavy but the face of the sweaters definitely has a lot of loose fiber, not quite sure they are quite balls like normal pilling. They are actually relatively fitted. I wear a 46 in Malo and the XS from Hawick is borderline too small. The Laing smalls fit just fine but they have a weird dimple where the arem and the shoulder meet. You can see it in the photo.

in my experience, don't worry about those 'hair'. Scottish cashmere is not heavily washed/treated as italian.

Maybe I will keep one of them. I actually like the Hawick the best. It doesn't have those weird dimples and the fabric is thicker.

Hawick probably looks better but still hard to tell with just a half of the image...and also, look inside out
Cannot see from that distance...but hair means wool is 100% and not blend with some synthetics like 3% polyamide. Remember by law they can call it 100% cashmere even if they use 94% cashmere and 6% polyamide for example. So if you see hair its a good sign, no matter if its made in Scotland or Italy or China. We see so much 100% cashmere but with 3% or 6% polyamide blend to avoid heavy pilling and that hair looks and feel
