A bit off topic, but is anyone familiar with Taylor & Twill? A Hume carries their accessories and also women's knitwear.

Can't find much info about the brand, prices seem to be lower than the men's knitwear counterpart made by Lockie. They're also made in Hawick, Scotland. I'm thinking of grabbing a few pieces for a female relative if they're decent.

If you like very much that style, i often see a lot in Pringle scotland shops. Nowhere near the quality of your original Ballantyne knit but worth a try

Few years ago they had a nice program of customization for their intarsia sweaters: one could choose colours and combination.

What I see in the website today is not attractive at all, unfortunately.

I do embrace my inner profligate, too often. However for a scarf this is more than my limit.
Perhaps of interest, my most idiotic and expensive sartorial purchase was a Vicuña Chesterfield coat with detachable sheared mink lining. Near bowled me over when the account had to be paid!!!

I have this dangerous tendency as well, but not being rich is some relevant hurdle.

By the way, it would be nice to see some pictures of that overcoat.
