Last year they had in shop knits, blazers, shirts even some pants. They will make some more for sure. For blazers and shirts works the best imo
I have seen blazers, shirts and pants. However, for those kind of items (except for shirts maybe) at those prices it would have been more interesting with going the bespoke route for better fit.

Of course. You can say the same thing for shirts or knit, you can go with your measurements and order 4-5 knits from Lockie for example at this price.
Its tricky because in other places you can go bespoke at this price or lower price but not with this fabric . But if you want this specific fabric and go bespoke, the cost goes 30-40% extra. I had made one of my coats bespoke with them and i had to pay 30% extra (took about 7 weeks). Maybe at Kiton you can find artisans expertise for bespoke and this kind of fabric, but their price is the same or higher. Attolini doesnt have rare fabrics but the blazers trousers construction for me is one of the best

I have found knits to be more forgiving, totally fine with the fit most of the time.

I meant bespoke with cashmere 4.0 fabric. However, I would not do bespoke if I don't live in the same city as the tailor. There are often small things I would like to alter. But I don't know if Colombo offers this fabric for other tailors.

Colombo is closed maker. They dont offer and they dont build for others
I wanted some of their fabrics and go to Attolini for a blazer in 2019 but without any success

I have seen pictures of fabrics from Colombo, but it might be old dead stocks, or they used to offer fabrics but not anymore.

Fabrics send to others makers? i doubt it. Otherwise you can see a lot of samples in some of their main shops and ofc their warehouse with appointment (maybe some on the internet as well)
in general i like to see samples for what is yet to come from them for F/W collection, thats around early to mid of that particularly year. Also very few items goes to third party after the collection is over. They tend to give it to their outlet store from Ghemme as far as i could see but not always

I don't really know the exact source for those fabrics. For instance Tissura has some:
Some I suspect are dead stocks from clothing companies who have ordered from Colombo to make their own collections. But I'm not sure if all Colombo fabrics floating around on the market are such kind. I have never bought any myself, so I can't say anything about the quality either.

clothing companies who have ordered from Colombo to make their own collections.

A MaxMara salesperson in Milano once confirmed that their double-faced cashmere and their 90/10 WV-WS are sourced from Lanificio Colombo. MaxMara cashmere from Colombo, in particular, are at minimal 14.5 microns, 36 mm.

Re: Colombo as a maker

Dear gentlemen,

Is your discussion referring to knitted or to woven fabrics, the latter addressed to the gentlemen's bespoke clientele for trousers, jackets, suits, and/or coats?

If woven fabrics are in your mind, it is Colombo who made the 100% Cashmere jacketing line "Magic Cashmere" for Drapers. It's been some years (not many) and I've seen them with my own eyes!

Best,

Dimitris

I have only seen Colombo make woven fabrics for third party clothing companies. So far not heard of white labeled knitwear, but one never knows.

You can ask them directly and the answer will be they dont source the current fabrics since 2019 at least
But i dont know what this matters to us..since Loro Piana a great fabric can be bought anywhere if you want a top italian fabric

you have to look after baby worsted cashmere with weight under 150g. In their shops didnt find something like that ,but i guess its early days since for Col is a new fabric that is on market for under a decade. Im pretty sure if they dont have they will...because its an 3 seasons fabric maybe 4 in many regions
