Cashmere Import Duty

Would anyone have an approximate idea, as to what I am likely to be charged for a +$1K Coat, (from the UK) ?. It is sitting at JFK now.
I bring 40' Containers in for work, with less 'head phuck'!

Not sure about Cashmere, but my $600 shoes was around $38 (IIRC) just last week.

The only time I have had to pay import duty is when I bought artwork from Sotheby's UK and my Charvet MTM from Paris. Both were shipped FedEx.. who is the carrier?

I asked for Fedex and the idiot's sent it TNT Global. I never even used them when i lived in London.

Primarily Europe (as I understand it) - with something of a Global reach, at times via a third party.
I fear what was a good deal - could likely go South very quickly.

Ouch! First that it took 6 weeks. Second that it was so ridiculously high. How much of the $375 was for actual duty and how much was for "clearing fees" and the like? This, BTW, is why I always push to ship via regular mail.

I think Mens Cashmere coats are like 17%. About That.

The rest would have been brokerage fees etc. Also they give you the highest conversion rate for the euro usually.

EDIT: The Pound. Missed that it was the UK. Also I have no idea as to customs from the UK.
