*odd question*

On page 190 of the Esquire Handbook of Style there is a photo of CG holding up an unfurled but unopened umbrella while sheltering from the rain on a city street.

Now I know I have the same photo in another of my style books, in larger glossier format than this small book, and I'm pretty sure the caption mentioned something about him wearing suede shoes in the rain, but I cannot find it anywhere. I'm driving my girlfriend mental over this as she doesn't understand mild OCD so I was hoping some of the SF mavens might be able to help. Does this sound familiar? Which book is it in?

Yup ^^ that's the photo I'm on about. Now does anyone have a book with it in other than the Esquire book?

The same picture is on page 71 of the GQ Style Manual 2010.

AARGH!

If I ever meet you at a SF event the drinks are on me. I wouldnt care but I even flipped through that last night (along with about 15 other books, I was convinced it was gonna be in Flusser or the Cary Grant book on style!)

The caption even mentions he is in 'anything but waterproof suede' (guess Scotchguard wasn't invented then!)

Thanks, I might get more sleep tonight!

I'm sure he would just chalk that up to sprezz. It seems to be the 'get out of jail' card for any and all fashion faux pas these days.
