Digital tachs bother me because there is an infinitesimal but still noticeable lag as the needle sweeps up. At least on this stupid McLaren it does.

Porsche, BMW and Mercedes are all still mostly analog as long as you don’t go for the very very latest models like the 992’s and G20’s. On the 18 and 19 Mercedes cars, the full digital display is actually a costly option, so you end up saving money by going with the analog option

You would think that’s an easy thing to achieve...

Almost everything these days supports Android Auto/Apple Carplay which is basically this.

Will be hard pressed to find a car without a screen these days because backup cameras are now mandated... And most consumers want the screens.

Auto....will check it out. I didn't realize that backup cameras were mandated. How blasé.

That's good, as one of the few cars I have liked on the road anywhere near a cost I want to spend are the fairly recent 4-series BMWs (and 3rd Gen Caymans, but not so much for a DD), as long as I don't get one with the M-colors on three of the grill elements like a 19yo whatever-the-German-equivalent-of-ricer-is (sausager?) . Some of the 6-series are nice, too, but as much as I love GT cars I should really get a sedan.

I actually meant no screen at all -- not for radio, "Car control" nav, nothing, not merely analog gauges, but per the above looks like that is just out.

Incidentally, I remember from TopGear's review of the LFA that the dash was digital so the tach could keep up with the LFA's really rapid rpm increase, McLaren can surely do better.

If you have fallen out of love, I can take it off your hands as long as you pay alimony.

fair recent 4 series is one before the update I.e. the F platform that everyone ***** and moan about, thought the 4GC does look good.

Am I the only one that enjoys digital dashboards? The more skins or ability to customize the better for me. Also like a good HUD (TWSS!)

Nissan Cedric FTW.

The 80's inspired digital goodness.

love HUD, semi indifferent about digital dash (I’m on iDrive 6), maybe if it’s the more customizable ones like Audi I would care

Another vote for HUD. Also really like Surround View if you're driving a huge tank of a car.

BMW 360 is awesome though I wish it had more zoomed in curb view
