Yeah but once you option the Beemer up comparably it'll be well ahead I'd guess?

Depending. Been looking at 540's and its nearly impossible to find anything with the trim packages I want. Lots of M packages and shadowline trim etc. I just want a GD premium package w/ Harman Kardon!

Looking at some CPO lightly used.....older 2019/18 cars before the dark times of covid are actually fully loaded!

My favorite in that segment is the Audi A7. Gives you quite a lot more cargo space (which you probably need) at the expense of rear headroom (which you probably don't). Looks great and great tech.

Have a hard time w/ Audi. My dad got the first year A8 in '97 and became a huge fan, and my parents and brother have preceded to light huge piles of money on fire for their constantly breaking A8's, S5's and Q5's.

I'm kinda a hater....but maybe I should look at them.

Hey all - haven't dipped into this thread before. I'm currently car shopping - though I wish I wasn't.
Historically I have been allergic to buying new simply because it felt wasteful, but considering how expensive used cars are these days, new is making more sense.
I'm thinking of going after a 540i - and I'm weirdly tempted by the Jag XF (though I'm not super in love w/ turbo 4's and wish they hadn't ditched the sportier 6 cyl model).

Anyone have any insight on recent years 540's? Or anything else I should look at? (back seat space for kids seats etc is a necessity).

Have you driven an XC90?

I should clarify, I am a male.

No. Kidding. We have a Volvo under a 7 year warranty. It's just not as nice inside as id like and the seats are not made for my 46 shoulders.

Bro, I'm still a 48 chest and 18" neck, even in my old age.

Respect. Idk, I just don't love our Vovlo.

TBF, I'm not in love with the XC90, it's certainly not the GLS Mercedes I drove for so many years. That said it's not a bad vehicle, leasing terms are aggressive, and it has all the new bells and whistles plus room to toss my Domane in the back.

Lots of aggressive lease terms out right now. BMW financial also has 1.9% on new purchases by months end. I probably can't lease, I put too many miles on and will blow the terms almost guaranteed.

I shop really, really hard as any regular in this thread will tell you. BMW was just not completive for leasing last year. I'd for sure drive an X5 or 7 if the terms were right.

Fair. I think my view is skewed because I don't shop leases because I know I'll blow the mileage.

I have a mechanic (partners really) who only do BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, and in the last 5 years Audi. They have warned me off buying an X5 with all their might. They like E classes and GLE's for reliability, 540's on the outside (but not 530's so much).

20 years of fair practices make it hard for me to go against them, but I do really like the X5.

I'm still a fan of the GLS, but for various reasons related to my situation, passing for now. When the dealership was five minutes from the office it was hard not to. Now both the MB and Audi are 45 minutes from the office.

Genesis are making a really compelling product right now. The G70 is better at being a BMW 3 series than the 3 series, and the GV70/80 are really nice. Trying to talk my wife into trading her BMW in for a GV70 right now.

The G80 is a pretty big car, but they are really nice and bring a ton to the table with regards to options and upgrades. Best warranty in the industry too. You should at least take a look so you can do a fair comparison.
