The three top-end systems are Akra, Dundon, and JCR. Akra is the best made and the only maker that supplies Porsche itself. A friend of mind tried ordering from JCR but they sat on his money for months and were unresponsive until he finally forced them to refund. He wound up going with Akra. Dundon was super popular in the beginning but seems to have fallen-off in popularity. Most people who don’t pick the Akra are making the decision based on price.

I don’t believe any of their advertised power gains. AP says you can MAYBE eke out another 5-10 HP with exhaust mods, but that’s it. The only certain benefits are cutting weight and better sound.

And almost forgot! AP himself recommended the Akra, though in his opinion the best configuration is pairing the side deletes with the center muffler.

If I went with Dundon, I’d probably insist on doing an independent dyno test. Because if the only reason to go with them is the power gain, then I’d better get it. That said, I wouldn’t just dismiss the dyno charts they already have.

a lot of people love JCR because it makes the Porsche sound like an Italian V8. But if I wanted a car that sounded like that, I’d get an Italian V8. I want it to still sound like a Porsche

I think Miami Blue in particular is a weird Touring color. Yours I don’t remember having an issue with.

Mine has the full race setup—headers, side delete, link pipe, center bypass. No center muffler or box.

I wouldn’t want to live with that as a daily but it sounds glorious. Like F1 glorious.

There were two GT3’s at a track day last fall both of which had Akrapovic exhausts. They exceeded the noise limits. It was a Sunday so there were lower db requirements. They fit some type of silencer or they can’t run that day.

FWIW, I used the Airmatic in my DBs on the reg for fording seasonal floods. In the last several years the roads here have been brought into the 20th century and are no longer used as a conduit for run off in our heavy seasonal rains so didn't use the feature anymore. Another aspect though was the auto load compensating and little nuances like it adjusting for cross wind multiple times a second. It also mitigated body roll in corners quite effectively. Not sure if the E wagons have that level of suspension but it was very nice.

You are more than likely correct but I’d like to think it’s just him and his wife having epic adventures.

Edit: also the dog is not that small either?



All the camping gear goes to frunk, 2 full adults, the dog can’t be that comfortable in the back if they’re taking really long road trip (and once you put dog there loose that space for storage too)

That's a professional filmmaker's tool: you see them around in LA because the original Cayenne could deal with all that weight hanging off of it. It's not something you use for normal car purposes. He was probably the subject of a film or YouTube video.
