They're weird, and rare. but i'm not a fan.
They are as ugly as a Pontiac Aztek.
Only different.

Your dad was right tho. A daily SUV Is a good call. And you will pay a lot more for more widely known cars.

Let's look at this from the perspective of "you can afford what you want"

The Suv world is
Do you guys get the Landcruiser Prado's?

You are a young man, with some street styles to rep. We've all been there. (most still are)
You need the most useful, most reliable, and most flex per dollar.
Because even nice guys still need to show they can provide.

So what does a young guy shop for?
Not a Rav4
Not a CRV/HRV
Not a non-turbo forester
Range rover? no.
Land rover HSE? no.

You gotta look around the outside of the box.
Nissan Pathfinder
Mitsubishi Pajero (careful-maintenance)
Any Landcruiser
And Isuzu. (even if you didn't get the mountain goat versions)

There are gems out there. And friends don't let friends drive **** cars.

Hmm. The SA I've dealt with at Benz since about 07 is now at Audi. Says he can get me an SQ5, all in, just the starts out of pocket, for $700 with 12k for 36. Now that's interesting.

If he can do that deal for an SQ5, maybe he could for a Q7? That seems more befitting your usage. They’re very handsome vehicles.

That's where I went first but the numbers don't work. He also just told me this includes the Costco program but it might not renew in October. If it's meant to be, it'll happen. I'll know next week when Audi rolls out its October programs.

You mean like this?
Kinda. But those are not as good as the LC’s

also, you guys suck for going for a couple of pages about Isuzu trucks without mentioning the best one - the 2-door Amigo softtop:happy:

I feel like this is something we should talk about. The JDM "Outdoor" car fashions.

Landcruisers,prado's,Jeeps,and Isuzu's. among others.

It's as much fashion as function. more orientated towards camping than rock crawling. You can see a bunch of outdoor fashion brand stickers in the rear window (TNF,Patagonia,Chums, etc)
Gnarly rims, thick semi offroad tires, and roof racks.
It's a fashion culture that hasn't hit the states yet.

lexus used to offer a body-on-frame that was i think the counterpart to the latest fj. i think they used to call it gx460?

Lulz @ Subaru. They are firm at $675 a month, taxes in (8%.) This is for a 43k car with 1.4k of dealer adds that has a 63% residual and a .0014 MF. At full list the math says $601. I thanked him for his time and told him to let his sales manager know he just blew me off the lot and I'd make sure to let other folks know the dealership tries to get over MSRP. He apologized and "will get back to me."

**** them.
I wasn't overly impressed with my Subaru experience. But its what the wife wanted...

I'm actually contemplating the Highlander once my lease is up (the hybrid). The thought of hauling the whole family and getting 35mpg average is very appealing. And not in a mini van. Love my MDX hybrid and there is a refresh coming around the time the lease is up so I'll have to see who offers more.

That’s the one! My HS buddy had a metallic green (the parts that still had paint that is) with the whole interior except for the seats, wheel and gauges painted with spray-on bedliner. What a beast. No girl would get into it.

he was a blond 6’2” surfer dude that sang lead in a band, though, so he didn’t have trouble with the ladies. Perfect application of the Tom Cruise theory* though, because those attributes were offset by his ****** car and the fact thathe was as dumb as a washing machine full of bricks

*you know, that no ones perfect? Tom Cruise is handsome, rich and the biggest Hollywood star for three decades now, but he’s short and insane

I think if I end up in the SQ5 Imma make a point to drive by the Subaru dealership and show the leasing manager what another $25 a month got me.
