This was truly a one of a kind paint job, at least that I have seen. It’s made to look like patina (rust and paint fading). It’s definitely a matter of taste and uniqueness, but I love it. Actually on second glance it looks more like a painting then a paint job

It looks like an Infiniti G/Nissan 350 mated with a BRZ

I think it’s been said, but the grille is actually the least of this car’s aesthetic problems. First of all, it looks nothing like a 3-series! No Hoffmeister kink and the surfaces are too rounded/organic. Worst of all are the proportions. The nose is way too phallic. Looks like a muscle car. It’s also too high and bulbous. Front overhang keeps getting longer and longer with each generation. Then there is the way the body appears to be swallowing up the wheels and inflated over the chassis. Horrible stance. No tension or tautness.

Looks like an anonymous, front-wheel drive luxury car, not what was once the industry’s benchmark sport coupe/sedan and the most ultimate of Ultimate Driving Machines.

New AMG-GT Black Series has leaked. Mechanical specs are still unknown, but consensus is that the engine is a 700+ horsepower version of the “regular” boosted 4.0 liter V8. No word on weight. Price is said to be only 15 percent higher than the R. If so, that is sort of a bargain, as far as Black Series cars go.

I generally like the looks, but prefer the smaller non-Black grille and separate front inlets. The rear wing is quite a sight to behold.

Interesting to see how certain elements taken from racing are becoming the orthodoxy for high-end sports cars, such as the front fender vents for relieving pressure over the wheels. When will we start seeing decorative versions on Corollas?

Mercedes posted a cringeworthy reveal video on YouTube featuring Schmee150. I refuse to provide a link.

All narratives no exhaust sound...

That’s what Top Gear is for or i guess Grand Tour. It’s a different perspective review, as stated in my OP. Have you already forgotten what a GT3 sounds like, do I need to call in the Foo to remind you?

Always ready to heed the call.

Meh...a friend has the regular version. I don't care for the overall design. So adding a bigger grill and a tacked on giant wing doesn't do much for me. Another friend said the AMG GT reminds him of the phallic "Car" Ace an Gary drove in the SNL cartoon.

What’s that I hear, Car & Driver?

Is that . . .

Peak 911???

Hey hey, the 981 Cayman is also on that GOAT list...!!

In other news, I half heartedly asked to be put on the list for a 992 GT3 allocation. Obviously there are none yet for a car that’s not even been announced, but if it knocks my socks off at the intro, I’m putting myself in the best position to actually get one.

I was offered a 718 Cayman/Spyder allocation ‘while i wait’, but i think I’ll pass. Not enough of an upgrade over the 981 to bite.

BMWs have been cab backwards for a long time now (the Mustang proportion resemblance is not new), and there is a Hofmeister knick in the new 4 series. That particular photo is shot closeup with a wider angle lens, which exaggerates the proportions of the front of the car.
