This is how my family does luxury SUV:

New folding buckets finally installed, as well as the only rear-facing child seat on the market that fits in the back of a 991 while leaving the front seat functioning.

Drove four hours down to northern Virginia. Kids loved it. My youngest (five months old) slept the whole way.
Impressed that it looks like even the car seat hardware is color-coordinated with the rest of the car. Did I misremember that the stripe on your steering wheel was also changed to Miami Blue?

Also, do they make carbon fibre car seats?

Have contemplated it . . .

nuna rava is definitely the better looking ones in the market

Yeah, much better looking the other one we had to get.

No they are not color-coordinated—just happened to have blue accents.

Steering wheel stripe is yellow and has not changer.

I have seen carbon fiber car seats, but I would never ever pay for them.

I would imagine they would significantly affect the weight though!

You're my hero Foo. If I ever were to slip one past the goalie again this is what I would do

Big question is does he let the older one eat goldfish back there? Those crumbs are hell to get out of alcantara.

A cool video from BMW of their upcoming M4 being driven around a track. The most notable thing is that this is a 3-pedal manual, and they have a dedicated camera view of the driver's feet so you can catch all of the heel-toe action.

well, if you can get over with the mouth, you can wait for M3 instead of M4... then this is probably the last manual BMW, unless Supra gets something...

The big mouth is very distressing.

There better be no cooling issues with that grill. It’s hideous. I hate the design of the new 4 and 8 series. Also, the interiors all look the same now from $40k to $180k

why would there be cooling issue with that big mouth (M4), unless you're worried about the small mouth (finger crossed M3)...

I don't mind the BMW interior, BMW has always been pretty spartan, though if one can spec 5 series to be same as 7 (seats and other small stuff) then I see almost no reason to buy 7 if you're not been driven...

According to BMW, the big grills aren't for cooling, but all the extra sensors they need for automated driving. Cooling has to do more with running radiators and lines for the things that need cooling, so there are cost, weight, and reliability issues that come along with that.

sorry, not sure if I understand, are you saying the bigger grill's cooling is for sensors? I'm hypothesizing bigger grill wouldn't make it any worse I guess

The bigger grill lets them put sensors up front where they can do their sensing. There're plenty of places to get cooling air already in current cars: having a bigger grill doesn't help there. To cool components, you need to put a radiator in the path of the cooling air, and many cars don't have those extra radiators because that would cost more, add weight, and add complexity (cf. Porsche 911 Turbo's extra cooling lines). For example, the M2 Competition has extra radiators that the M2 didn't have, but the grills are the same. Also a lot of times the grill openings are closed off for aero reasons, so the grills in BMWs haven't been the limiting cooling factor.
