It's been a while since I had my E63, but can't you configure the shift speed with the M button? That would eliminate one step at least.

You can, but I don't engage the M button all the time. It dramatically stiffens the suspension and makes the ride a bit uncomfortable, especially with some of the shittier, local roads around here.

I pretty much just cruise on P500 and fastest shift speeds.

Going back to those Aston Martin photos... wow, they are embarrassingly identical. That design team needs a bit of a talking to.

Not overly familiar with the E9x, but I know with the E46 M3 there's no chance in hell you can drive around with sport mode engaged due to the throttle being overly responsive. I personally like having the option.

I don't recommend it unless you want to fishtail into a curb or wall

Has anyone here ever participated in a BMW Performance Driving School event, specifically one of the M-School ones?

Worth the price? They're pretty pricey..

I know, and I even started a thread for them so they can talk about all the E43 X47 modulators and whether bolt A445 should get 65 pounds of torque or 66.

Have I? I don't remember, but I'm not surprised I have. In any case my bad since I don't remember.

Anyway, bored on a Saturday afternoon and the weathers nice so I'm at the Lexus dealership. Going to test drive an IS-F for comparison's sake.

Really curious to see how Japanese performance cars drive.

Also, holy balls are all the luxury dealerships around here SWARMING with customers. Crazy. Good for the economy I guess :slayer:
