Well, I posted about the significantly uneven tire wear pattern of my rear right tire months ago and even posted pictures of both rears and no one could tell a difference (which I found strange, given that the difference is glaringly obvious in the pictures, to me at least). But given the significant unevenness and the fact that I've only added around 2,000 miles over 6 months of ownership, and noticed it in the first place more than 3-4 months ago, I'm pretty sure the car came like this from the PO.
I should have inspected it closer, so that was my oversight. Going to take it to a mechanic to get it checked out.
This is the exact reason why I sold my HSE. $100+ fill-ups, no gas stations nearby... the thing had a fucking trip computer that would show you how many miles to empty and from the bottom of my parking garage to the top (under 100 yards total distance), the thing would eat up like 3 or 4 miles. After that experience, I vowed no more V8 SUV's.
Oh, and the new RRS is butt fucking ugly in person. But as I've said before, the old RRS may be one of the nicest SUV's ever built (IMO).

Huh? I'm not concerned about tire wear as a generality. I'm concerned about the uneven tire wear my car has and I'm potentially considering using this "opportunity" to swap out the rears for PSSs.. I don't even drive nearly enough to be concerned about tire wear .
Although he's championship material at posting every piece of minutiae about it. Again, there are specialist forums that would just love to indulge him.

Lol yeah I was kinda confused cause I was under the impression that the PS2s wear a lot faster than the PSSs. The PSSs are quite a bit cheaper as well.
I'm having trouble figuring out why anyone would get the PS2s instead, especially considering the reviews I've read rate the PSSs as actually better.
Anyway, I'm at the mechanic's shop. Anxiously awaiting the diagnosis. It's being lifted right now.
Have you read a BMW forum though? I'm convinced that the most vapid people buy BMW's because it's a cool car, but then they pour their whole existence and self-worth into their "baby", and fuck the whole thing up.
A friend of mine has a G320 Cab and loves it. Hate to tell you though; his 320 Cab gets worse mileage than his new(er) G550 with a... yup, V8
On the subject of your trip computer and the decrease in 4 miles of range - the range computers are typically a snap shot of current conditions and economy which is then extrapolated into a range. In your parking garage, you've just started the car and are accelerating and under those conditions, you're getting terrible mpg, thereby reducing your range at a rapid rate. By the same token, if you are in heavy traffic your range will increase as soon as you hit the open road...
Anyone remember the older BMWs with the fuel economy gauge at the bottom of the tach?

I can't say that I have. I'm ok with BMW people pouring their existence into the car, but they don't have to pour it into this thread.
Eh, some are but what you describe hasn't been my average experience....and I frequent more than a few BMW specific forums (E46Fanatics, 1er, etc.).
I'm on m5board but there are some seriously riced out cars on there; I'd say the majority of them are, in fact. I don't spend too much time on the forum.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the members there are drowning in personal debt to fund their modifications.
