My friend loves the A7 and was asking me if there were any other cars to consider. Does anyone have any thoughts on what other cars to consider in that price range and whether it's worth the extra money for the S7? He usually buys cars and keeps them for a while if that matters.

One car we did look at together (read: looked at reviews online) was the 6 series gran coupe but it's really not as striking a car to both from a performance (have to compare the 640 to the A7 since the 650 is almost 100K after options) and aesthetics perspective. He's looking to buy a car in the $70K-$80K range.

Strange...my friend who has a 997.1 GT3 is getting the new car bug and has been looking at the v10 R8 (needs the v10 as he already has that v8 in his RS4 daily), as well as the Gallardo Superleggera and the 991 GT3.

The Lambo being the bottom choice.

If dude can afford any of those three cars, what is stopping him from a Scuderia CPO? the rest of the three seem like a stopgap solution compared to a full on F-car.

    He's owned a few Ferrari's, won't go back.

The last one he had was a F355 Berlinetta.

He loves that the GT3, while being a performance machine, is relatively easy to own and inexpensive to maintain, which is why he's really considering the 991 GT3.

He said his wife would divorce him if he went with a Lambo...lol.

Also, the 991 GT3 looks like a better car than the Scuderia on paper. Let's see when it comes out and people drive it. It definitely will be a better driving car than the R8 or the Superleggera

that looks stellar. hopefully they put on a less crazy looking front bumper in the production model but overall i really like where the M aesthetic is going very recently (i don't like the M5, but love this rendering and the M6 GC)

    Yum.

I'm glad they kept the hood bulge.

Also, that stance is pretty aggressive for stock. I'm sure the production model won't be so low, though.

Interesting. The M4 doesn't appear to have the air vents on the fender behind the front wheels. It does have the character line but no actual hole. That vent is said to be functional on other cars. Also, I think the front bumper is going to look like that for production versions. They appear to be embracing the whole air curtain concept we saw on th 1M.

Edit: oops, didn't realize those are CGI.

Yup, the side grills are supposed to funnel hot air out of the engine bay.
