GT3 RS for sure. And +1 to not removing the graphics again.

GT3 RS - Race setup from the factory, Naturally Aspirated, lots and lots of delete options

997 Turbo - Not fully race setup (but you'll take out a ton of other cars) at least not in the GT3 category, Turbo'd, not as many delete options. Also probably a shorter wait list.

It's true like that with the majority of exotic cars (the drop in depreciation). Consider that my car cost in the 100K (after all the options added) when new, and you can pick one up for sub 20K now.

Understanding that the maintenance on exotic cars are unbelievably high. If you have the PCCB (Ceramic brakes), a brake job will cost you in the five figures. Yes, over 10,000 to change your brakes.

Turbo engines tend to require more maintenance than the N/A's.

I'm going to drive to Greenville Tuesday and hopefully they have someone at the dealer that knows what they are talking about. I tried to look at their inventory online but it is wrong as I drove by and the lot/showroom is full yet they say they only have 5 vehicles. I'm receiving a pretty nice relocation bonus that I don't need as I'm "relocating" to my actual hometown

where I already have a home (they know this). This won't be my dd.

At least Phoenix Yellow is unique. Silverstone is just another boring color. Might as well be driving a Dodge Caravan if you're going to go with a color like Silverstone. In 20 years, lets see what colors command the most money for these cars. My money is on Phoenix Yellow and Laguna Seca Blue.

I do all the work myself, and my oil change cost me $130 It's because the engines take 9L of full synthetic oil

I personally don't find Porsche's appealing but if you want one go ahead and drive it into the ground. To hell with buying one as an "investment."

Then take some cameraphone pics of yourself posing in front of your car, now wrapped rear-end first around a tree and on fire, while making some gangsta hand sign and post it onto Facebook for instant Internet notoriety.

Honestly, if you're going to drop $150k on a GT3RS for a weekend toy, why not drop the same amount of money on a CS? At least the CS isn't going to lose 30% of it's value over the next year. And, well, it's a bloody 360CS!

CS is nice. Probably slower around a track, but I'd have more fun going slower. It just puts a smile on my face.

I loved the 360 stradale and have all the euro mags from when it came out plus vids.

Still I'd take the rs over it due to lack of manual trans.

Don't buy a car as an investment, because most of the time you'll be wrong. Get the car you like and drive it hard, especially something like the GT3 RS.

That said, it is a tremendously capable car that is designed for skilled drivers. I doubt more than 1 percent of 1 percent of the driving population can drive that car at a level that could distinguish it from a 911 Turbo or a 360 or any other sports car.

Also, I'm not sure what allocations of that car are like these days: a couple of years ago, it was nigh on impossible to get one unless you had connections. Perhaps the bad economy's changed that.

A good friend of mine is a Sr.Partner to one of the major accounting firms. His personal clients are the very wealthiest in the world. One of them prides himself on never ever having bought a brand new car. He always buys something cool after someone else took the depreciation, holds on to it for a while, has fun, then buys something else. He has about 12-14 cars in rotation and never, ever looses any money.

So, you can be a very big timer and maybe not an investor but at least a breakevener.
