1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Couldn't agree more about loud bikes. I don't understand how in 2013 with all of the other stuff you can't do (you can't even supersize your meals any more right?) that you can still have motorcycles that raise the dead. If someone ran for mayor and the only thing they promised to do was eliminate loud motorcycles - I'd vote for him or her in a heartbeat. At least it's one thing that could actually be accomplished, as opposed to all of the other empty promises.

For a second I actually thought about buying a BB gun to shoot at these assholes before I snapped out of it and realized that no matter how much I hated these douchenozzles, they weren't worth spending time in jail for.

there's a fairly big condo unit at the end of the block that has lots of families in it. I wonder if they've tried to take action.

There was a silver one sitting on the floor at my local dealership about 2 weeks ago. At first I didn't know what it was and scratched my head because I thought BMW did away with the "is" nomenclature. As my aging synapses began to fire, I vaguely recalled reading an article about it in Car & Driver.

    Shit was nice

Shit is really fast (7 second overboost function that pumps out around 370 lb*ft of torque) and sounds amazing with the performance exhaust.

Have you ever been driving and attempted to change lanes only to jerk back at the last second because a vespa silently glided up next to you? Harley dude will never have that problem

Fuck Harley Davidson's and their ilk. They are nothing but a nuisance. In DC they descend upon the area during Memorial Day... and like 99% of them are not vets, they just want to smoke meth and pose.

I still can't believe it. Bought it for $16K, drove it for two years and sold it for $14K. WIN!
    The new i8.

Lame, though its a good looking car.

They should bring back the M1. The 8 series was a dog, now they want to "reinvigorate" it?

I guess the M1 was a dog in its own way, but nostalgia works better with an extra decade or two.

I think despite the name, the i8 is closer to an M1 than an 8-series.

The rear quarter panel I think takes definite styling cues from the M1, especially the 'vent' and lines behind the windows.

I assumed it was an M1. BMW needs to understand the value of their own history. Come on guys.

Audi is fucking up the same way. That V5 Quattro with the rally heritage needs a real car, stop monkeying around with concepts and deliver.

I'd happily join such a movement and I've been riding for years. I've never understood the fascination so many riders have for obnoxiously loud motorcycles - far worse than any segment of the car enthusiast community (ricers, muscle cars). The only bike I've ever had with an aftermarket exhaust is the CBR600RR I bought used last month and while I had some misgivings, it truly seems no louder than stock; the PO added it with a Power Commander to bump hp a bit but it's still surprisingly civilized.

Oddly, we've got almost a dozen bikes parked on my block and not one is loud, and two of them are Sportsters. I'd say the loudest is a Vulcan, but it still appears stock.
