$50 today. I don't think they were that cheap back then. That isn't even a good point. You want to buy a 20 year old car today, obviously it'll cost cheaper for regular maintenance. I bet you it was pricey back then. I somewhat remember my dad changing some 14" or 15" tires on his corolla when I was in high school and I believe it cost him ~$100 each and that is a lot back then. You can get an 225/50 18" wheel for $100 today. But you're baller so why worry about the cost of stock 17" wheels and make that as a point? A Big N Tasty was .99 cents 10-15 years ago too. Standard cost of living changes.
