What group is out there that looks at the Murano and says “hey, that’s the car for me”???
If you believe the stereotypes, it’s the guy who doesn’t have $3000 to replace his Altima’s CVT but has a FICO that starts with a 6 or less.

Oh god, I forgot about the convertible abomination version.

I still remember being with the gaggle of media when they revealed this in LA and everyone was so confused. Then a few years later, Range Rover revealed the Evoque convertible in LA and everyone was even more confused, although their intro video of "young" drivers packed in the top down Evoque as it drove through the snow was a better marketing image.

At least not any Theresas who are in Nissan’s budget and credit score range…

The funny thing about SUVertibles is that no one blinks twice at Jeeps, Broncos or even Suzukis and Isuzus, because from the beginning Jeeps were open top vehicles.

But everyone clearly sees how weird it is to have a crossover mall crawler droptop. Hard to pretend that someone is going to be taking a Murano or Evoque to a beach bonfire.

Saw a dark metallic grey Spyder RS on the road yesterday. Never seen one of those in the flesh until today. My gf was riding with me and told her about how much that car is worth. She’s like we should get one. Now I just need like $300k to get it.

Can pick them up for MSRP. A couple guys in my car group have them.

Also, SavageGeese did a video on the Murano CrossCab and apparently Nissan dealers don't even want to service the cars, specifically the tops. They were made because some executive wanted one for his wife? No wonder they are trying to merge with Honda and Honda is getting the bad part of the deal.

I'm still seeing $20k ADM on Rennlist for good customers.

I sent a text to my buddy last week lamenting the possibility of that merger. Honda has already fallen so far. Tying up with Nissan would be the final nail in the coffin.

Isn't that Murano the Nissan version of Infiniti's FX?

I test drove an FX years ago. Really shone out as a useless/unusable vehicle in a market segment of useless/unusable vehicles.

They had really different styling and the FX45 had a great exhaust note from what I remember.

It also drove fairly sporty but the problem was the form factor. Even for a 100% pavement SUV/crossover type vehicle, having some cargo space is a plus. The back end just made the cargo space useless. I also remember the electronics/instrumentation was not all that, which maybe improved over the years?

I had an FX35 for a year or so between company cars. @Piobaire described it well. In retrospect, it didn't do anything particularly well, though it sounded OK for an SUV. Storage and ground clearance were worse than an actual SUV and it didn't perform anywhere close to a sedan/wagon. Too many compromises.

I find the plight of Nissan intriguing. I could be mis-remembering but they had a decent reputation for a while didn't they? My buddy drove a Maxima in college that seemed so much faster than every other family sedan of the time. Wasn't the Fast and Furious fairly Nissan heavy? Dom Toretto can't be wrong. Nissan even had strong history in endurance racing (GT-R).

When did they become so terrible?
