Sorry to hear that Carfax didn't alert you until after the purchase. If it makes you feel any better, the guy who works on my 328 laughs about all the auction houses selling "Perfect multimillion dollar vintage Ferraris, Astons, Porsches, Lamborghinis etc" that come up for auction. He said people regularly got into accidents on the street, and if the car was raced, it most certainly was damaged, however there was no car fax back in the day. However, as long is it was fixed correctly, looks great, and drives well don't lose sleep over it...just rack up the miles and have fun!
I bought a driver so I didn’t feel bad racking up the miles. There is still a floor in the prices of these cars so even with an accident it can still get quite a bit even if I were to sell.

I don't always commit tax fraud, but when I do I like to tell my e-bros about it.
😜

In other news, I just found out that late model NSX's are selling for way above new prices. Pretty crazy given that they were considered a flip but 2022 Type S's that retailed for like $170k are selling for $250k+ right now.
To be fair, I do go to court and client meetings a lot. According to my CPA, I just have to apportion business and personal use. It’s in writing, so he’s getting in trouble if I get in trouble

After significant car shopping, I’m embarrassed to admit I’m likely buying a Tesla Model S Plaid off a friend who likely shouldn’t have purchased it. It has 3,000 miles and 4 years of warranty left. I work from home, can expense it through my partnership, and it’s fun enough for city driving and nice on the highway.

I test drove an M5, RS6, AMG E63, X5M and a few others. They’re better cars, but $20-30k more. I’m taking the extra money and getting a Miata or small fun convertible.

In reality, I just love the stupid fast acceleration.
Just pray you never have to get it fixed

I also like the story and intention behind these. Sir Jim Ratcliffe the adventure automotive enthusiast realizes that no one makes a proper SUV anymore, so he decides to make his own. I heard stories that he actually tried to buy the old tooling and/or license the IP for the original Defender before deciding to build something from the ground up
The problem with both the original inspiration and the Ineos is that both are not suitable for the job they advertise. Get a 70 series (with the V8, for fun, since you live in civilisation) - the vehicle of choice if you need to do 1000km through the Outback or when driving to your madrassas in Yemen. Bonus point if going for the "uglier" troopie models, especially the 11 seater with side benches. Now that'll be a fun school run.

(if your partner complains about the leaf springs and smell of diesel, he/she's absolutely in his/her right; you might also need a daily driver for the less potholed roads)

Ha, I think I mentioned this before, but my mom had a J40 for fieldwork when I was a kid. I wouldn’t wish a 1000km, or even a 100km ride in that thing on any of you. Never had a 70 series but the Hilux of that gen was pretty rough too. Too much to give up in the name of LARPing

speaking of LARPing it got cold here the past week and sure enough I got the little PSI indicator when I turned my jeep on this morning . over to the gas station I go .

for $2 the air pump gives you 5 minutes which for me is like a pit crew challenge to go around and fuss with the valve , unscrew and screw back on caps , hit all 4 tires plus spare plus bad back . fortunately their supply has the built-in gauge otherwise i'd have no chance .

Saw the GX in the green today. Unless there's a new colour by the time I go to buy, that's the colour.

Did someone ask Dall-E to create an F-type in the style of an electric Chinese car combined with a Rolls Royce?

The worst thing about the whole Jaguar rebrand besides the actual rebrand, is now everyone is saying go woke go broke trying to use them as an example. The company was already going broke and going woke is basically their last ditch effort to turn things around.

I mean, concept cars are always ridiculous (it’s kind of the point) but this is just derivative. Maybach excelero with rolls Royce front and slab siding

I thought it was a bigger vehicle from pictures but it's not that much bigger than our XC90. Taller but not by much. Love that metallic green.

I guess I missed the woke part. What are they doing to out-woke the competition?
