I am irritated in part because of the inconvenience, but mostly because we have been looking to move on to another car and were going to trade this in.
One of our reviewers recently reviewed the Malloch's Seaweed Newman Roll Neck Jumper. Check out his thoughts on this modern contemporary version of the British submariner jumper here.

The pickup looks very Rivian-ish
I have to think that the Supercharger network is the sole remaining selling point for the trust fund baby’s cars. All of them looks better than anything Tesla is making these days. In a sane world Rivian and Scout (VW) would eat their lunch.
Ffs.The 80 has exceeded my expectations in every single way. The wife absolutely loves it and has evangelized two of her partners into also buying one. We should get a commission!
Haven’t really looked at the 70 other than to think that maybe the styling isn’t quite as successful? But I’d expect the quality and tech to be on the same level. In fact, the 70 has one notable advantage over the 80, in that it supports wireless CarPlay. There’s some chip set incompatibility issue with the 80 that can’t be fixed in software. Pretty much the sole annoyance so far.
Just the 911's, 718 4.0's, and GT cars.Have Porsches become honest to goodness Veblen goods?
So VW at some point purchased the International Harvester IP and just….sat on it till now? Talk about playing the long game!
Exactly. And also the people who don't want Tesla because of politics, while (supposedly) sitting at a lower price point than Rivian's comparable offerings.Going for the retro bait while also providing hybrid/EV SUVs to the public that don’t look like a generic Tesla.

I really like the look of the SUV, along with the range and the towing capacity. Too bad they're not supposed to be available until 2027. Considering sending them the refundable $100 reservation fee for giggles.
I guess that makes sense. 5-ish years from ‘21 to ‘26 or whatever for a development lifecycle seems about right for a platform-shared vehicle. I wonder if they bought the brand name specifically with the vision to resurrect it as an EV that was already in development…I think it was purchased around 2021.
No one was doing anything with it so this feels like a smart play. Going for the retro bait while also providing hybrid/EV SUVs to the public that don’t look like a generic Tesla.
