my school, university of toronto, has arguably the highest influx of Chinese students in Canada (they get drawn in by the name and prestige of the university even though they're pretty much all the same in actuality) and every single one has a 3 series (white sedan for girls, or coupe for boys), a C class benz (even saw a dude in a C63 coupe the other day..was some special edition with black decals on the bottom), Audi A4 or A5 (you see the odd dude pushing an S5) or a Range. Not too many porsches, but you see some. It's mind blowing when you realize that they are paying 50+k a year for school, and they usually have a sibling in the same school...paying the same price with the same class of car

FOBs FTL... rich fobs who dunno how to use their money = FTMFL

i wonder why they arent at harvard and yale... oh yeah, they dont sell out their names to people who are merely rich. beceause if the chinese can find a way to buy their kids into harvard, they would
harvard and yale only give admission to people's kids who are rich AND powerful

I dont know about that, I know some kids are descendant of some seriously powerful government guys in China. I never really associate with them though. They're always speaking in their own language and with their own international students so it is kinda hard to get to know them. Funny aside, apparently the girls are extremely slutty (multiple boyfriends). This was told to me from someone who lives on res

as for them not going to Harvard etc. I don't really know why they don't. My guess would be that immigration into Canada is much easier, seeing as we have a huge Asian population already

You got to get SF approved driving shoes as well.
Aston Martin teams with John Lobb for special driving shoes
YeYRu.jpg

The right occasion calls for the right footwear. Aston Martin figures its customers should have the right shoes to drive their GTs, so the British automaker has collaborated with the shoemakers at John Lobb on a special collection of driving shoes.
Called Winner Sport, the shoes are made of full-grain calfskin, lined with sheepskin and perforated in just the right places for a unique look. A joint design effort between Aston Martin design director Marek Reichman and his counterpart Andrés Hernández at John Lobb, they feature bonded rubber soles (in either white or red, with coordinating laces) that wrap underneath the shoe for better pedal control. Like what you see? Click the images to view in higher resolution and follow the jump for the full press release.

am i total Lobb fanboy for actually considering those? :puzzled:

btw - Margiela GAT's - - good enuff driving shoes for me. pretty damn light and soles are thin enough to give decent pedal feel.

Doesn't the US get the S63 swb?
I just remembered that the F10/11, is actually build on the same platform as the swb 7 series (F01), so it's a big car.

No, only lwb. Because of this, the only MB I'll consider is the CLS63. I have a CL now, it's size is fine but I find that I'd rather have 4 doors.

i dont know any chinese kid who speaks chinese to their chinese friends...
me included... when i came to usa when i was 11 years old, no one spoke chinese to me. it was english or stfu and die.
so the determinant of fobness is basically that - english only or not.

that, and the fact that they dont need to. and theyre obviously already wealthy. not much room for derision there, unless one is jealous.

Just moved into my new apartment complex in Dallas and it's full of the typical entry level luxury cars, but there's an Asian kid who drives a gtr and parks it in his own reserved spot.

It baffles my mind because if this kid can afford a gtr, he most certainly can afford to live in the much more ridiculously luxurious and expensive apartments Dallas has to offer.

Whatever. My goal is to befriend him and gain his trust so I can drive that beast.

I been hanging with a buddy of mine who has a CL63 and is in the market for an SUV... Amazing how far dealers will bend over for him. We went to the Ford Dealer here locally, they where damn proud of there Mustangs and trucks. I sat in a convertible 5.0 while the sales women was "trying" to sale me on it. Saying how it beats everything on the road.. But I was impressed by how much the interiors have improved over previous generations. I asked how much they wanted for the Mustang, left over 2012 (really?) and I about **** my self. You can get a new Vette with Nav and Targa top for not much more.

Anyways... He's settled on a Range Rover, not sure what model. I think the newest Evoque. This other dealer is also an Aston Martin, Lotus, and a few other high end brands. I am hopping to get my hands on my dream car a Lotus Elise. Hate taking cars on test drives with no intentions on buying but I don't think I can pass it up.

My friend is 22 and trust fund baby... Only job I know he has ever done was a few pornos. On the other hand he donates lots of money to the Trevor project. Out of the few (born) wealthy young people I know, he's by far the most respectful of them. The others seem to look down on you...

UBC is pretty ridic. lots of ranges, lots of maserati GT's, lots of Cayennes, a few Ferrari's and Lambo's. Someone has a RR Ghost. Of course, there is the 19 year old UBC'er living across my street in a 1.6M townhouse (by himself) with a GL450 and a lexus ISF. its pretty crazy.

i bought myself a 350z (25500 out the door) when i was 18 years old by bussing tables and working during school year
that was ... 8 years ago
but there is absolutely no way 18 year olds can afford RS4s (45,000 and up preowned) and M6s ($45-50000 and up preowned) on their own, thats for sure, unless they are slinging drugs or developing serious apps on the app store

I think I have said this before, but I had a 6 year old 40k Audi A3 a 20, while going to school and working full time on the side, it was the worst idea ever though, but that is a different story.

Around here it's pretty damn common for immigrants to speak so their "native" language even though they are 3rd or 4th generation who are born here.

I think the reason why those chinese kids due it, is that they are no immigrants like the rest of the chinese population, they are just there for school and when they are done, they are going back to china, so they don't give a....

:slayer::slayer::slayer:

If I ever become wealthy enough to fritter time, this is what I want to do, an E34 M5 lookalike done with the mintest parts, and then a crazy engine swap like the M70 from the 850CSi... but I've always hated silver E34's. Mine would be like, malachite green or bronzit-II

Anybody got any more links to epic project car threads? I love reading these things.
