I guess I missed that with GreenFrog as well. Sorry to hear it. I hope he's doing okay.

EDIT: I took a quick look and I remembered seeing it back in 2017. :(

Haha yeah I noticed that chair too, interesting spot for it. Like does he sit there like a king on his throne.

You’re spot on with the location, near Ventnor Ave. I think he owns the Automotive Custom Shop off of Albany Ave heading towards Mays Landing. I’ve seen both the Ferrari & semi-ugly Lamborghini Uranus (lol) parked nearby. Plus the 458 Spider has dealer plates.

Are you local to the area or seasonal visitor/resident? I live in Ventnor City seasonally for now. Got a place overlooking the ocean

That makes sense. I had *no idea* that Lambo was called the Uranus. That's so Lambo. Surprised they didn't call it the Upuranus. First one I saw was in the parking lot of my local Target, surrounded by men taking pictures and selfies with it.

No, I'm not a resident, seasonal or otherwise. Not in the tax bracket, though I am jealous of your view. I spent a decent amount of time on the Jersey shore (much furthet north though) and it has its own special appeal. I have some family in Atlantic City proper and will go downbeach to see Lucy, eat at Steve & Cookie's, or just escape off the downbeach expressway.

Someone broke the Cannonball record again!

It's amazing how little I care anymore. Alex Roy injected enough humor, faux poseurness, and geekery into it to make it fun. These new guys don't really add anything to this particular canon but more speed, perhaps better luck, and likely more recklessness. Plus, it is getting tiresome to hear them all say that they will do it so fast no one will ever attempt to beat them. Yawn.

If I modify an airplane so that it is street legal (add some folding wings, a drive motor, and some turn signals), drive it out of NYC, and then fly it across the country...do I get the cannonball record? Or do I have to actually drive a certain route?

There is a prescribed route. Since the record is approved by consensus of some mysterious cabal of people, they'd get ultimate say over whether a weird vehicle is OK or not. I'd guess such a vehicle would not get approval.

It's actually the Lambo Urus, not Uranus. I finally saw one in person about a week ago. I thought it was an Audi Q5 until I saw the Lambo script across the tailgate.

 I was being facetious with Uranus, as I always thought Urus was a weird name to give a Lamborghini that some (ok most) think is ugly as a well...."your anus".

Ah okay. I actually wondered if your phone had autocorrected the name.

I thought it looked okay, but not $200K okay.

No doubt. It's better looking then the **** Maserati is making and dare I say what Ferrari has yet to make. It took many drives in the Ferrari FF for it to grow on me and after looking at the design of the Ferrari Purosangue (another stupid name) I think it would take many more for me to grow on it. Only problem is I don't drive Ferrari's on a daily basis anymore, so fat chance I end up liking it for what it is. Frankly I'm a little let down Ferrari even succumbed to releasing it, but oh well, guess you got to adapt or die

I'd prefer a luxury spec'd Toyota Rav 4.
Landcruiser, I need something that doesn’t get stuck in the mud. I love my e class estate, love that it’s hybrid so sips fuel, but damn does that love dissipate quickly once you have to put the rubber mats under the tires again.. Three times this fall/winter..

a G class would have been ideal as I do like mercs, but those have been so thoroughly tainted by kardashian association that the wife wouldn’t be caught dead in one.

It looks like the only thing set is the start and end point - Red Ball garage in NYC and Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach. I think it makes sense to have a level playing field. The route itself is up to you.

And no, an aircraft isn’t a ‘level playing field’ although I suppose you can set a new benchmark for the first OTC Run (Flight)...

Flying cars have been the dream for 75 years.

Once Elon gets off his ass and builds one, the record is done!

People love the idea of flying everything from cars to package delivery but flying is f**king loud.

I hope it's not as hideous as the truck he built
