i finally got to spend some more time with the yellow monster. moved it under the carport, and washed it. i let the car run for 10 minutes.
it still wants to run. and i felt like it begged me to be on the road again.

i am unsure.

Anyone hear of this issue with the new VW GTI's, was surprised to see that a manual car would be plagued with this issue. I was in a Ferrari F430 F1 one time with a stalling issue...couldn't exactly pop the clutch lol. It was pretty frightening being 15 miles from the dealer.

Yeah, luckily I haven't experienced it. Although I have killed this car more than any other manual... But the stalling issue is when coming to a stop, not starting.

A lot of people have had luck switching oil. The 2019s switched to a new oil for fuel efficiency and that may be causing issues.

This issue can pop up in any car. while it could be any number of things, my suspicion is the car is losing air velocity. the car wants to maintain speed, but is being robbed of air. which could lead to over-fuelling. so you get no pop on the rotation. something that could be fixed either by looking at the throttle body, the MAF sensor, and the ecu tune. perhaps a combination of all 3.

I had this issue in the yellow monster because of the BOV. before i had it flashed by HKS. cars don't typically like drops in air pressure relative to RPM. (whoooooooosh 18psi, pssshshhhh,0psi,bang).

huh, you could solve the issue by switching to a lighter flywheel. the lighter rotating mass would not only improve response, but also the car would drop revs quicker. keeping the fuel/air closer matched to rpmXair flow. if the car is Turbo, you also have the boost control to look at. (could be doing the opposite, running more air pressure at less fuel flow rate.)

you could say that the engine itself creates a vacuum . but, combustion requires oxygen.

so my shopping list for your fix?

1. lightened flywheel.
(hey! why not upgrade the clutch while here?)
2. a good aftermarket air intake, and throttle body.
3. an ecu tune.

Tadaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! *Jazz Hands*

This car went for what sounds like a crazy low price for a <10k mile classic Ferrari with a gated manual....what gives? I know 550 Maranellos are awesome so it’s not the car.

Is there a cost to import a car from Canada?
There is, but it’s very small. It’s either a flat fee based on some kind of schedule or a small % of the car’s value (I wanna say less than 5%). It has to pass US regulations, which many models do, having only one version for the whole NA market

Despite the love for the 550/575 here, these weren’t that popular in the secondary markets, hence they go for mad cheap (in Ferrari terms). The SuperAmerica was a different story altogether. We had several 550’s that sat around awhile. They’re great cars though & the manual is exhilarating, especially in a V12 Front Engine.

Total Ear-Gasm. The Ferrari FXX somehow sounded more raw & better (IMO) then the F1 Cars. That McLaren sounded like a Prius in comparison to the lot

Went to the Car Park NYC event in Brooklyn on Sunday. Lots of everything, but more Porsches than anything else. Not by design—just happened that way. There were over 70 911s!

Skittles colors galore.

Some of my favorite non-Porsches: orange Ferrari Dino, burgundy Alfa 1750 GTV in immaculate condition, and a blue BMW 2800 CS. So sad to see what BMW used to be.

For what it’s worth, kids love my GT3!
