1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Awww @brumuman. No love for the Suzuki "Every" EV kei van? Either seats 5 people. Or 2+ cargo area. Plenty of space for batteries.and not much weight to move. To top it all off? Super small wheelbase. Making it ideal in busy cities for both families and workers in various trim forms. It is an indication of where things are going .
No way Tesla is just fighting itself in the budget market 2 years from now.
One more time. Soak it in. .

:) - that looks like my fall Lego gift to myself:

Like I said in my post above, I hope companies do compete with Tesla - and everyone that works directly and indirectly at/for Tesla would welcome it. Unsure who is remotely close though.

I'd put a bullet in my head before I was ever seen in public in that thing.

You can feel as green as you want plugging your car into a socket.but if that power comes from fossil fuels?

    Well. . .

Absolutely correct - a static fossil fuel power station might (emphasize might) be marginally more efficient, but it's still hello CO2.

I used to think a fossil fueled power station powering up an EV would still be more efficient than an ICE car. Not really the case. The thing is, enough power comes from net neutral sources to still make EVs the best choice and that shift in power generation will only make them more compelling.

Isn't Japan's electricity comprised of nuclear power in large part?

Hahaha, engine bay was smoking up today when I drove the car. Guess all the excess PB blaster burned off.

I had to park on the far side of the school parking lot so I wouldn't get looks as I had to fan the hood to get things to calm down. Threw some water on the stock header to get it to shut up a bit.

    Live news reporting. . .
Press conference on Japanese TV news.

Suzuki has has become a partner with Toyota.
Toyota's president "we need to address the development of technological, environmental, and self driving cars".
With the aquisition of Daihatsu, and a loose collaboration with Suzuki. Toyota aims to expand their influence with state of the art technology".
-Toyota aims to push forward in their development of fuel cell technology. As their core ambition. And mentioned
"The emergence of Tech Companies into the car market"

There you have it. Toyota is throwing down. Teaming up with and buying the market share holders in small cars.
-Throw some popcorn bags in the microwave and open a beer.
The big boys want to play with Elon.

Awesome - let's go. Me (with no working relationship with them) and everyone at Tesla - including man crush - want to see this and would fully welcome it. This seems far more realistic than what Ford and GM have talked about, but done jack.

We'll all miss gasoline cars. I miss the sounds of the E92 and F82. I still want one last gasoline car. The Tesla doesn't sound like a Dyson as was said earlier - it just sounds like nothing, but lugs me around and is paving the way for the future. Excited to see others join.

    No go?:

    Edit:

As Dave Matthews says: boredom takes away, what forever took to find. Totally non-inspirational new version of the BMW 5.

Thankfully they sorta fixed the dreadful EPS with the LCI F10, hope it is improved and is at an F8x level.

    http://jalopnik.com/heres-the-next-bmw-5-series-before-youre-supposed-to-se-1787685974

Edit 2: I guess the target base is also boring, so they nailed it.

Why is everything in car forums an attack on Tesla? Again, they are not holding children hostage or screaming eco hippie. It's a positively boring car as I've said over and over.

Why even bring the S into this?

Good to see BMW is keeping with the 'death by 1,000 switches' theme alive.

People are super obsessed with hating on Tesla. I don't really care. The cars are pretty nice if not as nice as people think they should be (because they don't realize the TCO is significantly lower). I would still want regular controls for a lot of interior function personally and they are just too wide.

The new 5-series? Meh. Everything BMW has done since Bangle has basically made them look more like Pontiacs. Generic and uninteresting profiles. Maybe I am just old, but BMWs peaked at about the E24/E30 era and have gone downhill from there.

I have no idea why the fuck w/a even brought the Model S into this - completely unrelated cars. He also had nothing useful to say about the topic. AMD makes better GPUs than Intel. I can also do ad hominem stuff.
