Hello all,

New here and recently ordered and received three pairs of Carmina oxfords. The two cordovans have their flaws but I will learn to accept them but my brown calf had the leather/blind stitch cover stripped off as shown in the pictures. Is the norm nowadays with Carmina and should I just accept it as is?

I know that these are just the soles but for the premium paid, I expected more. Would you guys return this pair or just wear and forget?

Thanks in advance and looking forward to your replies.

edit: to compare with the other pairs, sole looks like it has some wear or perhaps a display model.

You note the point I was going to make it in your second paragraph--they are just the soles. I certainly understand that it is disheartening to spend $500+ and have such an issue, but the sole is inherently designed to sustain wear and does not maintain a pristine appearance for any other time outside of it being brand new.

I would email carmina and ask and see if perhaps they can give you any sort of credit/confirm if they think this is an acceptable deviation from their quality control. They could either 1) give you some sort of credit/incentive/reprieve or 2) tell you to kick sand and say it's a structurally intact shoe with no upper issues.

Deformities on the leather upper are one thing, but sole scratches and stuff unfortunately have to be looked past most of the time. If it does bother you then you can certainly return; I wouldn't call it unreasonable to expect better finishing. However, in practicality it's a relatively non-issue in terms of once they're worn.

Thanks for the input. I'm just worried that it might peel prematurely exposing the inner layer of the leather since they on the outer side. Yes, I have emailed Carmina to process a return and may just get another Cordovan pair. Sale going on still:)

It looks like they mis-stitched and tried to secure it with nails instead?. I'd exchange those and ask Carmina to pay shipping... Not sure how those left the factory as firsts? @Carmina

Echoing @Shawl Lapel 's point above. Looks like they sent you 'seconds'. Ask for a new pair or refund.
