How TTS are these? My wife is a pretty standard UK 5.

They do run small. Usually I am a UK 5.5 - 6 in Carmina's more common lasts (Madison for example), and am usually a US 7.5 - 8. This particular pair is too small for me (both slightly short and slightly too narrow). By any chance does she have other Carmina shoes?

None at all sadly. I’m just trying to hunt out something different for her is all. Pretty much uk 5 even for her sneakers.

I'm a size 8 in Asics and 7.5 in New Balance, and looking at their sizing conversion this would be either a UK 5.5 - 6. Converse 7.5 US which is UK 5.5. It will probably work, but of course, there is a risk they would be slightly big, so she would just need to use an extra insole. I wish I could be more helpful, but most of my footwear is US sizing.
