Thanks for the advice! I was just looking at the Carmina site and they describe the Oscar Jumper boots as low instep, so I've ruled the Oscar last out, so it will either be the Detroit or Llubi for me.

In my experience, Llubi fits similar to Barrie E (maybe a hair narrower) but longer and with a higher instep. I have high volume, wide feet and for whatever reason I've generally had to stick with dress socks in my Carmina boots instead of going with thicker boot socks. I've heard that advice from a few others as well.

How would you compare the Llubi to the Detroit? From the description I feel that the Llubi would be too bulbous. Any top down pictures would be appreciated.

Llubi in between Alden Barrie and Plaza. No Detroit, yet.

Here's another picture against a barrie in a similar wingtip design with split reverse welt. I always thought Llubi looked like a slightly more tapered barrie.

Would you take the same size in barrie and llubi?
TIA

I take 9E in Barrie and these Llubis are 8.5 UK. They feel longer than my 9E Barries but not to the extent that it causes any issues. I might be able to get away with an 8 but I feel like I may have width issues. Someone with narrower feet than me may be able to get away with 1 full size down from Barrie.

For the Amaretto GMTO, I was leaning towards a wingtip boot but now I am almost positive that I will go for a Frankenstitch Jumper with brass hardware in the Oscar last. Any other suggestions or edits to this design?

My understanding is a double row/extra stitching on overlapping leather. So basically more prominent stitching. You can see it in the derbies in this link. Maybe someone else can correct or update my description if I’m wrong.

Part of me wants a slightly lower height/shaft boot (like Viberg’s service boot) rather than their standard jumper, which I believe is quite tall, but I think that’s the point of the jumper boot.

I went the opposite way; from frankenstitch to wingtip boot.
