The hatch Calway has a select a color dropdown, so every one could be available in grain? Hatch Armagnac may get me.

I would confirm with them as I'm fairly sure it's only the color 8 that's hatchgrain. Especially since you can choose hatchgrain burgundy as well as just burgundy on all the offerings.

Ah, good eye. They had talked about doing a December Styleforum hatch grain shell order, before disappearing.

Question: I bought a pair of oscaria boots for my mother from carmina. I antiques them with oxblood colonil cream polish. I have done this same process on other brands with no I'll effect; however, my carminas are bleeding pink pigment even after saddle soaking and using neutral to take polish off.

What can be done? Some users have suggested carmina might have put a sealant on the leather.

Never experienced or heard of this with a pair of shoes from Carmina. It would seem more likely based on your description of what you did to them in the shoe care thread that you clogged the pores by trying to change the color of shoes using polish and then using saddle soap and more and more polish each time to remove the other polish and more polish to try and seal it in.

That's not my read of it. In the drop down only the burgundy explicitly shows as hatch grain. Still a great option!

This was the process:

Cream polish. Brush off excess/buff. Wax polish. Buff. Normal shoe care. This usually results in no problem at all.

Result: terrible colour leakage.

What I did after was wipe damp and brushed vigorously over several days.

Result: colour leakage still.

Then I saddle soaped, brushed, and applied neutral wax as a cleaning agent, removing more of the pigment.

Result: still bleeding colour.

So I wasn't just layering on more polish, and definitely no more pigmented polish. The neutral wax was used to remove polish and I only applied a single coat thinly to seal. The result was a failure.

I've done this same process to other shoes with no problem at all approaching this magnitude.

Based on this description - Did you strip the factory finish of wax and polish off before you started?

I didn't strip down to bare leather or cut into the dye itself, but yes I removed the existing wax.

I have a pair that the shaft is hatch grain, so can't really say how they wear in in the full sense of the meeting

Not well worn, but here's @nishant 's. I have same pair with 0 wear. It doubt you'll find someone on SF who has a well worn pair, we have way too many shoes!

i really adore this pair of boots, wished carmina offered Armagnac hatch grain.
