What's the price difference between 1 and 2, out of curiosity?

Alternate option: Buy Rain-lasted shoes from Epaulet, get free shipping, only pay return shipping.

    Or do they not stock a 6? I honestly don't know.[IMG]

I would do option 2, but perhaps order the pair that you want first instead of both at the same time. That way you won't have to sell them both if you need to size up/down.

The punch cap oxford is a great style. I have a pair in saddle shell that I special ordered from the Armoury since my size was sold out. It took about 3 months. They actually have your size (UK6) in stock.

I don't have any Carminas on the Rain last (yet), but I've heard it's slightly narrower than the Robert last. You might just shoot the guys at the Armoury an email and see what they have at the store. I think their online shop doesn't show their entire inventory. Ethan and Alan are both very helpful.

Good luck getting these two pairs of Carminas.

I'm leaning towards 2 since I think there's a good chance that the last will work out.

Well, with 2 there's a definitely loss of about $100 for shipping and return shipping. If option 1 works out, there no loss. If it doesn't, it depends on how much I have mark down on B&S.

    Epaulet doesn't stock size 6.

Thanks, I think I'm going to get the punch cap oxford MTO.

    Correct!

Thanks. Can't wait to take them out for their maiden voyage although I think it's supposed to rain for the rest of the week.

I'm a heavy toe wearer - should I consider steel toe caps?

I just had toe taps put into my Inca lasted Epaulet monks, and I'll be doing the same for the suede pair I just got. Considering the cost of sunken taps (~$50), I don't see why you wouldn't just go ahead and get it done.

If you're thinking of B Nelson, it may be a better value to just wait until you need a resole and get the toe taps along with that.

Either your wife has excellent taste or she is good at taking suggestions. In either case - cool for you!

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a pair from Carmina. I'm looking for something that will be worn primarily with denim and chinos - would a wingtip be the best bet or something else? I like these the best, Carmina Brown Punched Captoe Oxford - Simpson Last but I'm afraid they might be too dressy for denim and chinos.

    Any thoughts?

They are beautiful - but in my opinion too formal for denim/chinos.
