I dont have personal experience with this but was told by Steve from GF that Detroit is about the same width as the extra wide version of rain. So normal rain should be a little narrower than Detroit.

I've read that Detroit and Soller are actually longer and wider then rain as well. Don't know if this is true or not as I've never had a chance to try on either last. Can anybody confirm this?

So, just for funsies, I recently ordered the burgundy shell monks off Carmina's website, and here they are:

Yeah, I don't think these are going back. What REALLY blows me away, though, is that when I said I placed the order "recently", I meant "Friday" - and they were delivered to me in New Orleans (not exactly a transportation hub) today. Just the regular FedEx International Economy service. Man, what a company.

    They look delicious!

    1. What was the total price in US dollars and how much was shipping?
    2. Did they take off the VAT tax at checkout? If so was it like 15% or 20%?
    3. Did you get hit with customs charges?

Sorry for the questions, I just want to know for obvious future references :) thanks

Oh they are DEFINITELY worth it. I have a pair of Carmina shell bal boots from Skoak and they are tanks. I was just curious what the prices were like buying directly from Carmina. Thank you sir for the info [IMG]

I had a similar experience with Carmina. These beauties arrived 5 days after ordering them. Paid $40 to fedex for import fees. Almost too smooth, I could easily order several more pair. [IMG]

    Awww yeah. Beautiful combo.

I have those too [IMG] and I finally got my green shell belt from Rancourt for the match. Now I'm just waiting for the perfect occasion to send them on their maiden voyage . . .

Oh, and you should definitely buy a few more pairs!

    I could too.

I showed this thread to my wife and all she said was "oh boy" with a sigh.

Sorry. Can't provide much guidance. The Detroit chukkas are my first Carminas and are 8UK. I've never tried on a Rain last in that size (shop was out of stock), but I did try the 7.5 and 8.5. They were too small and too big, respectively. That's why I went with 8UK in Detroit. Thankfully it worked out.
