I'm thinking a little wider than normal is good for shell since its thicker. Last still appears sleek to me.

for me, it boils down to wanting the 'rolls' of shell vs the 'creases' of calf

do you guys think the shell version is darker than calf ?

Shell version definitely seems darker than the navy calf counterpart. Rolls over creases! IMHO

depends on the light. as syoo eluded to, the color varies. indoor lighting = dark, almost black. my coworkers once commented on my "black boots" but after correcting them, the all agreed it was a dark navy. in bright sunlight, the are a nice navy blue. more light, more pop

its a perfect chameleon imo, indoors, dark and classy. outdoors, during say a lunch meeting, they become a tad more vivid
