Lovely boots , congratulations and thank you for sharing.
Just a public service announcement:
I am putting together a Carmina MTO suede tassel order through a fellow member, steveyoo1983, who is opening up what looks to be a great store shortly; info available here, http://gentlemensfootwear.tumblr.com/.
The details for these tassel loafers are below. But definitely PM if you have any questions. Happy to answer them. Once we have six together, I will place the order. We should definitely have these shoes ready in time for the summer.
Model: Tassel loafer with hidden strings and punched toe medallion (styled like the loafer 2nd from the right below but add the toe medallion)
Toe Medallion (as in this photo):
Leather: Light Grey suede (see photo of color below) with navy calf leather tassels
Sole: Single leather, antique light brown edgetrim
Lining: Purple calf lining
Price: $450 with free shipping and no tax if outside of CA (will also ship internationally)
Gifts included: Carmina shoe trees and Abbeyhorn shoe horn
Back to your regularly scheduled shoe p0rn.
Is this the same grey as the shoe below? Looks a bit lighter, but that might be the flash.
It is my understanding that the suede we will be using is slightly lighter. Which in fact may work better for a summer loafer.
They are two different colors Camina is currently out of the "mist suede" and will stock something similar in about 10 weeks.
The new one is definately little lighter "summer grey suede" perfect for summer loafers imho
Thank you CHRK33!
Good day to you gents!
To quickly introduce myself, my name is Young Yoo from Los Angeles CA!
You can PM CHRK33 or me directly if you need more information about the MTO.
Just to clarify, Carmina does not offer lasted shoe trees, they will be a standard (non lasted) trees.
There is another MTO going in right now for a saddle shoes model! details coming soon!
Yes, they are. Thank You
Welcome Young Yoo - The shoe trees are Carmina shoe trees like the ones in the link? http://www.carmina.telemaco.es/familia.asp?idfamilia=11986480
Thank you sir!
Yes! that's the one! Carmina shoe trees!
Hey everyone, I'm thinking about getting my first Carminas, but am unfamiliar with the lasts. From what I've gleaned, it seems that the Robert, Forest, and Oscar are the more "traditional" lasts. Are there any others? The 82 in EG, 7000 in JL, and 337 in C&J are about as sleek as I'm typically willing to go. Does anyone have recommendations on which lasts I should look towards for Carmina?
Also, any comparisons for the Robert, Forest, Oscar, and any other "traditional" Carmina lasts to the other makers? I'm mostly familiar with EG, JL, and C&J, but am happy to hear other comparisons.
Basically, the Forest would be a little like the EG 82 last, the Rain somewhat like the 888 (but Rain is equal to F-fitting) These are the two most popular lasts in my experience. The Simpson is also popular, and it's little like G&G TG73 (but not as aggressive). The Oscar last is a round traditional last, somewhat like EG 202. Robert is similar to Forest but less rounded.
I'd aim to get fitted for the Forest last primarily, because so many models are made up on the Forest. If you have a wide foot then Rain is maybe a better choice. If you have narrow feet; Simpson but this is a more contemporary last and may not appeal to you.
Just had a chance to open up my box from Adam and the guys at Skoaktiebolaget.
At a quick first glance both the spectators as well as the grey suede's I purchased are absolutely stunning - even nicer than my first 2 pairs of Carmina's.
Will post pictures little bit later tonight.
Thanks, Leaves. I admit EG's 888 is less to my taste, so perhaps I'll avoid the Rain.
Do you, or anyone else, know how Carmina's Adelaide compares to any of EG, JL, or C&J's lasts? Or how the Adelaide compares to Carmina's Deia?
Separate names with a comma.
