80106 Jodhpur boot: The Alcudia is definitely narrow!
Is the Alcudia as narrow as the Simpson?
From Narrow to Wide:
Man I hate to say it but I think I would be reluctant to do an MTO using cognac shell until I got a definite sense of what shade I would be getting. Seems a large gamble for such an outlay. Anyone interested in a high boot in one of the calf leathers? The Natur Marron looks pretty awesome. I was thinking Oscar last, york sole, storm welt maybe.
^ There will always be some variation, but if you specify "dark cognac" they'll know what you mean and you'll get something dark brown.
We have this model incoming in grain, on a rubber sole, with storm welts but the tannery Carmina use for grains are not delivering as promised (as many of you are well aware of). They keep pushing our delivery date, really frustrating but it's not Carmina's fault.
This is the grain we are making up the boot in(chestnut grain):
Hey, I just wanted to get some opinions. I'm debating between a pair of Crockett & Jones Tetbury's from P.Lal or waiting until February for the Carmina Chukka to come in February. Price is about $400 for the Tetbury's and something like $475 for the Carmina's. Suggestions/advice?
Do P Lal have the Tetbury in your size? They are no longer a C&J stockist so when their stock goes, it's gone.
They do. Benefits of giant feet.
Whichever last fits your foot better.
i finally got around to taking some proper pictures of my carminas x epaulet mtos:
python austerity brogue
ruby shell captoe
i haven't worn the ruby captoes outside yet as i'm still breaking them in on carpet. i'm planning to wear the pythons later tonight.
Simpson and Alcudia are the same last except for a chisel and almond toe, respectively.
Im just curious. When you wear the pythons, do you get any comment or looks?
The captoe stitching on those boots is way off straight. Should have been picked in quality control IMO.
Beautiful shoes but be careful to stand back when (as Barry Mackenzie used to say) you need to "syphon the python".....
From a distance they look like chestnut shoes - check out the pic from http://epauletshop.tumblr.com/post/39514489686/wisith-pythons
